TTC after a period

My husband and I recently started TTC. I was going to take a pregnancy test this weekend because it's been about 2 weeks since we TTC. However I just received my period yesterday. My menstrual cycle varies anywhere from 23 days to 26 days, most commonly it's every 23 days.... this one was 23 days. How can I tell when I will be ovulating after my period so we can try again? I know many people suggest using a ovulation predictor kit, I've never used one before, do they really work? And which is a suitable one to use? I'm a bit clueless to all of this TTC stuff because up until now it's always been something we've tried to prevent. We're really anxious to get this ball on the road.

Ditto what @bibliothecary‌ said. A lot of ladies here use Fertility Friend to chart their temperatures. Their website has great tutorials as well so I would suggest you check it out as well.

I haven't pulled the trigger on OPKs yet, but the information from Fertility Friend had been incredibly helpful. Much recommended. One temp a day will tell you so much about your body, it is definitely worth checking out.
