Tired with a 3 year old!

I'm 7 weeks with my second child & last time I remember napping a lot especially in the beginning but this time I have my son to keep me busy. He does nap still but of course that's never when I seem to be able to. I'm so tired already all the time, has me not looking forward to the rest of the pregnancy. Anyone else in the same boat?

  • I'm also in the same boat and wondering how it will work to "sleep when the baby sleeps".... Yeah I don't see that working again
  • My two year old doesn't nap at daycare, so she's a total joy when I pick her up in the evening. I just keep thinking "3 hours until bed time... 2 hours until bed time..." etc. And then go to bed at 8:30 p.m. :)

  • I'm just trying to make it through one day at a time with my 2 yr old & hopefully I will feel better in a few weeks.

  • Yes I know can't see being able to sleep ever when the baby comes! My son was a great sleeper even when he was waking up 2 or 3 times a night he would go back at like 6 or 7 am until like 10 & I always went back with him!
  • I feel your pain. My son will be three next week.
  • My son is two and seems to have an unlimited amount of energy. By the time he naps or goes to bed I am more than ready to crash too.

Yes! It makes me miss my first pregnancy when I could nap after work! Now I get to run around, play, go for bike rides with a few tired tantrums thrown in just to mix things up! Haha! But it's all good, and it will get better :)!

  • I'm so tired now chasing after my two year old all day! I am really starting to worry about how I am going to handle entertaining a toddler and while taking care a newborn on zero sleep. It'll all work out though, right???

  • I feel your pain too. DD is trying to give up naps all together and I'm not ready for it. I'm even considering looking into a daycare so I can get some rest! lol I feel like a terrible mom.....

My daughter is teetering on dropping naps.  I tell her that she doesn't have to nap, but she needs a rest time.  She can read a book or play with her dolls in her room, but she needs to rest for an hour.  I'm not saying you have to do that, but that's how I get my naps in as well.  After an hour, I go get her out of her room, and we go back to playing outside or doing whatever.
