Thoughts? WWYD?

My DH is graduating from his apprenticeship tonight and there is a banquet from 7:30-11. Typically, DS goes down at 8-8:30. I have the choice to take him and he will probably be fussy. Or I would put him down and then go to the banquet. DH's sisters (16&14) would be at the house in case DS wakes up and I would have to come home. Usually, he doesn't wake up until 1 or 2, but there is an off chance that he would wake up. We already paid for the tickets to go, so I have to show up, plus I want to be supportive of my husband. The banquet is only 10 mins at most from home.

So WWYD? Take baby with you or leave him at home and pray he doesn't wake up.

If I knew his sisters to be responsible I would probably leave him with them and then come home if need be. It's better for him if he's allowed to sleep when he needs to. An overtired baby is an absolute nightmare!

  • Is leave him with the sisters since he will be sleeping anyway. It's so close to your house, that makes the difference for me.

  • Since it's only ten minutes and assuming the sisters aren't flakes I would definitely leave him at home.

As long as the girls watching him are trustworthy, I'd go ahead and leave him home. Especially since it sounds like he usually sleeps that whole time,
