Stabbing / cramping pains

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like sharp stabbing cramps when sitting still?

I was sitting down tonight and they came a few times, bub was very active at the time so not sure if that had anything to do with it? I had a couple of braxton hicks as well with the pains but not each time. Lasted a little over an hour or so on and off

I've never had period pains so not sure how to describe them in comparison. I had to breathe through them though, they definitely took my breath away!

I'm 38 + 1 and was induced for both of my other pregnancies so have no idea what the start of real labour feels like!

If someone can shed some light on this?

    I get some feelings like that in my hips/pelvis occasionally-- I figure she's just pushing against a nerve or something super sensitive.

    I get sharp sharp stabbing pains and even some Braxton hicks and usually I end up just having to go to the bathroom.

    If your baby was active, it's probably due to that.  Last night when I was reading before bed, LO was having a rodeo in my uterus.  Made for lots of cramps and super-uncomfortable feelings--felt like he was trying to kick his way out through my ribs!  I had to get up and stand/walk around a few minutes to get him to settle.  Felt better after that.

    But with that movement, I felt sensations everywhere from my cervix to my ribs to the joint where my leg intersects my hip.  Really weird.

    I asked my doctor about cramps and pains at our appointment earlier this week. She said it's completely normal, and likely a result of baby pushing against muscles and nerves and whatnot.

    yep I would say baby is on a nerve. I have had this since he flipped, shooting vagina pain. I tell DH that someone gave him a cattle prong and he is zapping  my cervix with it. Stops me in my tracks everytime and I wanna cross my legs and cry until he moves off the nerve.

    Dr said it was his head on my cervix and hitting nerves when he moves....whatever it is it hurts!

    I feel for you!

    This. The pains literally stop me in my tracks, and all that I can think to do is cross my legs.

    Thanks girlies ;) sound pretty normal then! Hasn't happened again (as bad as it was) so I'm not worried :):)
