I was late on my period about 2 weeks and today I finally took two pregnancy tests, both came out negative. Then I started my period hours later. Anyone else relate in any way?
I have a period the same time every month, and I've never been late before. Plus me and the honey were trying during my most fertil time so it was kind of just a shocker for us both.
My point is I got my period the same day I decided to take the test. I thought it was ironic that I started bleeding the day that I decided to take a pregnancy test . If all you women do on here is make snarky remarks and rude comments then maybe this isn't the place for me. Sorry for trying to get engaged in the community.
Alright, thanks for being such compassionate understanding animals that women were created to be. This isn't a place for a mean girls movie, it's a place were all supposed to support each other.
My periods almost always come on the same day. If they're not, they're only one or two days off. Sorry, that must be hugely disappointing! Are you recently coming off hormonal BC or something?
Thank you to those few who are trying to be supportive, I am confused too as to why there's so much support here because there doesn't seem to be much. And yes, I just got off my birth control pills at the beginning of June, but I bled during my normal time then even... It was kind of disappointing because I'm not even sure if I'm able to have children. But I'll keep trying! Me and the honey are both super excited to keep trying(:
I also have a clockwork-like cycle, but every so often, I have a longer cycle (usually due to stress.) I use OPKs to be certain I ovulate, and I always ovulate a particular amount of time before my next cycle begins.
ETA: BC does not mimic your natural cycle. It can take a few months to regulate.
The snark has already been doled so I will leave you with this - I'm (pending temp shift) in the middle of O'in on CD26 - totally unprecedented for me. I will now be about 12 days "late."
So, there. Shit happens

That's probably it. You can have irregular periods for up to 6 months after taking BC. I recommend OPKs from here on out, and temping/charting if you have a history of problems. Do your research, and good luck!
If you're usually regular, it totally sucks you'd go two weeks longer than usual the first month you're TTC. What a mindfuck.
That said...were you born in 1995? Assuming you're 18 or 19 and have battled an eating disorder and been on birth control can you really know if you're regular? Perhaps your cycle is always going to vary or be longer than 4 weeks. You don't want to go through this every month, thinking you're late when you're not truly "late".

I appreciate it, thank you to those who have given helpful answers. Honestly I just thought it was ironic that the day I decided to take a pregnancy test I started my period, that's why I started the topic. I thought, oh really now, so now that I know I'm not pregnant it's okay to bleed? Lol
I'm blogging from my phone, and all it shows is a bunch of random numbers and letters when I try to read it, yo. So excuse me for not knowing what's wrong or right.
Stress can throw your body off. And yes, take a test, get af. Wear white pants, get af. Af is an ironic b!tch with a lousy sense of humor. Lol
It always seems that way.
Gl on your next cycle and i recommend ready taking charge of your fertility
Ha love that Aunt Flo is an ironic bitch. I've always had super irregular cycles off BC, but if I was off BC in my early 20s I probably wasn't having sex with anyone and indifferent to when cycles came, other than, dear god please don't let it start while I'm wearing my new $90 white pants from the Limited.
I'm blogging from my phone, and all it shows is a bunch of random numbers and letters when I try to read it, yo. So excuse me for not knowing what's wrong or right.
But you have had experience with humans in the real world, yeah? In real life do you ask random strangers about their utes and expect them to open up about theirs, then get all pissy when they're honest with you about what they've experienced and how you could stand to learn more about how your body actually works? If you'd bothered to post an introduction first, then thanked people here for taking the time to answer your question, you'd be off to a whole different start on this board. But no, you've jumped into a COMMUNITY of women who have taken the time to know each other and demanded support based on a two line post without taking the time to let us know more about you or taking any time to get to know others here first. If this is how you interact with people in the real world, there's no help for you.

In the OP's defense, I think the point of her original post was to be self deprecating about how if she'd waited a couple hours more to test, she'd have gotten her answer via her period and not wasted a pee stick.

@ank1995 I would totally feel the same way, that sucks. I have "clockwork" 28 day periods too, and I would've had my hopes up. I've found the Babies on the Brain board on this site is very supportive to newbies, and finding empathy/support. I've found the TTC board is good for research, snark and trouble shooting difficult questions.

@bibliothecary bitches be cray cray - you da shiznit! Now I'm going to try to resume breathing, which your little gif party up there made rather difficult
Op - I WAS late, I AM charting, I got a false positive on an old blue dye test yesterday that was basically trying to screw with my TTC brain, and I took another test this morning. A FRER that showed negative. I stood up from the toilet, looked down and realized I got my period. So yes, I've been there. No go read the newbie blog and STFU.
WTF to this whole thread. Some people, I literally have no idea what they even said. @bibliothecary--I freaking love you. OP--just leave. You're not pregnant. Sorry. And read the newbie blog and figure out the dynamic of this community before posting again.

I have had my period be a week late and then just show up. I have also taken tests every day it was late (all negative) only to start bleeding hours after I took the last test. So I can relate to your story. And I have charted through Fertility Friend so I knew my ovulation calculation was not off.
I was on BCP for over 10 years. I also had "clockwork" cycles of 28 days during that time. because those weren't actually cycles. They were medically induced bleeding.
I read about temping during my first month off BCP, while I was on my honeymoon, and wasn't able to go buy a thermometer. I started temping when i got home, but i must have O'ed before i started temping becuse my temp was already pretty high and steady. When i hit the 28th day of my cycle, i had plans that night that were probably going to involve drinking. So i peed on a stick and got a negative...even if i WAS pregnant it would have been too early to turn a positive at that point, as i now know i likely O'ed on day 19 or 20. almost a week later (at 34 days) my temp dropped by a half a degree and i got my period.
temping is no joke OP. Seriously, you have your period now, so start doing that tomorrow. You will be better able to see when you ovulate, so you will know when to expect your period, or when to take a pregnancy test. you want to start temping as early in your cycle as possible.
And FWIW, my second post-pill cycle is also looking like it will be 34 days, with ovulation on day 19. So it's entirely possible that this is my body's unmedicated normal cycle length. Some women can take up to a year to get regular cycles post BCP, and some women never get them. temping will give you the information you need to help you know when your fertile window is, and when your period is coming.
Re: Wow, okay then!
I will go with "the answer is Yes" for $800, Alex
