Today was our official EI evaluation for DS. The speech path. told me that he while he was right on the cusp, she doesn't feel he needs services right now, just a little more time to grow. She said he was doing a nice job imitating and was very engaged with her, which were all positive signs. She gave us some tricks and strategies to work on at home to help him, and reassured me that in a few months if I still have a gut feeling that we're not on the right track, we can re-refer him and have him looked at again. DS was a real cutie-patootie for the whole hour, and the development specialist told me she was actually a little bummed he didn't qualify, because she would have loved to keep seeing him. Thank you for all your supportive words and good vibes, friends! I heart you.
Re: EI Update to the Update
Glad you got some helpful feedback. Fingers crossed that there's a word explosion coming soon.
Animal sounds were some of our earliest words here and definitely among our most popular at the current time. They love to look through board books and make all the different animal sounds. It sounds like a barnyard or a zoo in our backseat when we're driving and the kids are "reading" in the car.
