So in order to be liked here do I need to be a complete bitch too? Because it seems like that's all this place is good for, women being bitches. A serious question ladies.
I did my first post on here and instantly got attacked with nasty comments. I wondered if everyone else was getting the same kind of treatment, and it seems like they are.
I'm sorry, but I'm not insulting your character. I'm not calling you a bad person. But I'm not going to say "yes you are pregnant" when I know there's no chance in hell.
There's a difference. And I'd much rather be told real facts than anything else. I've never felt this board was bad. ever.
OP, as a fellow newbie, let me give you some advice, that perhaps you could follow and then maybe the "bitches" will like you....
1. Give an intro about yourself & your TTC journey. Jumping right in without so much as a "hi my name is", you're just some internet stranger infringing on their territory and they really couldn't give 2 shits about you.
2. Read every single thing in the NEWBIE blog section. And then read it again.
3. After giving said above intro & newbie reading, lurk. And lurk. And lurk some more, and when you think you've done enough, do some more lurking ... do you see where I'm going with this? I don't like it myself, but that's how shit rolls here & if you want to be a part of the team, you gotta play by their rules.
4. If you think you have some sort of question, reference back to the newbie blog. And then search the forum. Or use Dr Google. These ladies don't like to repeat themselves. Even if you think you're question is legit, it's not, b/c it's been asked a million times before & you just didn't lurk enough to find the answer.
5. Don't use this forum as a "dear diary" place. If you are that type of blogger (I get it, I like to ramble about my life too), join over at Babycenter. They happily allow "dear diary" threads, newbies jump in all the time, and no one shuns them. It's a place to explore all avenues of your TTC journey, whether it's a question or just rambling out your thoughts. Here, not so much. Because you're a newbie, and you're job right now is to lurk.
6. Put on some big girl pants, b/c this is the internet, where freedom of speech is put to good use.
7. If you stay long enough, you'll actually come to enjoy the gifs, they really can be quite entertaining.
Please educate yourself about your cycle. Please understand follicular phases, luteal phases, and what defines each part. We're asking that you have a modicum of understanding about your cycle. And - if you don't - then listen to the advice of those who *do* understand the science behind menstrual cycles and are trying to explain things to you and offer you the tools to continue to educate yourself.
We advocate for knowledge here, not false hope, fake support, or faux sadz.
Faux sadz. I love that!
And real knowledge normally results in real results later on....
