  • 1. What's the farthest you've ever traveled? Tell us about that trip! (And, if you haven't traveled far, then tell us about your best trip!)
The farthest from where I'm currently living (the UK) is probably Buenos Aires--though we were living in Brazil at the time. The (now beloved, then frustrating) Brazilian city we were living in was difficult for foreign vegetarian lesbian types like us. Buenos Aires was so easy and there was so much delicious food everywhere. We went to a Chinatown grocery store to buy uncut (veggie) sushi rolls and ate them like hot dogs. Amazing. Also, wine that was practically free...

    2. What's your favorite condiment? Feel free to elaborate!
It's a tie between ketchup and brown sauce. Both are delicious with weekend breakfasts. Yum.
    3. What's up this weekend??
Obsessing about last few days of TWW, some work (annoying but necessary), and cooking galore as the shopping was delivered last night and the fridge is crammed full of veg that needs to be cooked up.

  • 1. What's the farthest you've ever traveled? Tell us about that trip! (And, if you haven't traveled far, then tell us about your best trip!) Farthest I have traveled is to Germany and Austria. It was amazing. We went with my MIL, her bf, my SIL, and her husband. All of my MILs family live in Germany (she is from there and moved here when she married M's dad). It was over Xmas break and was absolutely stunning. We went skiing, tobagoning (sp?) at night---dangerous and absolutely a good time!!, hung out with family, visited Dachau, and so much more. We were in Koln for New Year's Eve and it was gorgeous.

    2. What's your favorite condiment? Feel free to elaborate! I love ketchup. It goes on almost everything! I even put it on white rice (got that from my dad)

    3. What's up this weekend?? I am not sure. We have a date night tomorrow, but I do not know what we are going to do. Tight on funds so we shall see where that goes.

  • 1. Punta Cana for our wedding/honeymoon. 1 week in paradise! All-Inclusive resort on beach. Adults only. Jacuzzi on balcony, Swim up bar. Snorkeling, sharks (on purpose), stingrays, kayaks, massage on the water (floating docs) married at night under full moon under a papla (sp?) as soon as we exchanged vowels it started to rain so we ran and sat under smaller papla and took selfies! Lol. They are some of my fav pics! My new avatar is from our wedding. Just wish it was legal! Oh well...planning trip to DC.

    2. Ketchup!!!! I could not live without it. It I don't like something, dip it in ketchup. Usually helps! Lol

    3. This weekend we are starting nesting 101 in which I told Sarah she could lay in bed and tell me yes keep it, donate, pack away. Getting worried about adding 2 babies into the house. We are quickly out growing our space. So I will be pintresting small room storage ideas!

    10 medicated IUI's (3 with injectables).
IUI #1 (medicated) Jan. 2013-BFP!!!!- Beta's didn't double, MTX shot for possible ectopic.
    8 IUI's between April 13-April 14 = BFN
IUI #10 and final before IVF, injectables May 2014- BFP!!!!  TWINS!!!!

7 week ultrasound showed 2 wonderful heartbeats!
8 weeks to the ER with vaginal bleeding while on vacations!  Diagnosed SubChorionic Hemorrhage.  Babies are both great.
9 week ultrasound showed both babies are still great.
  • 1. Kauai, Hawaii. We were there on our honeymoon. We flew to Honolulu and took a cruise that stopped in Maui, Kauai, Hilo and Kona, but Kauai was our favorite stop.

    2. If we are talking basics, then mayonnaise, especially if it's made from scratch (though I won't turn down Hellman's either). We had lilikoi mustard in Kauai that was delicious, and a sweet potato mustard in Charleston that was also great. A burrito place we used to go to in CA had squeeze bottles of "orange sauce" on the tables, which was chorizo drippings mixed with mayo or crema or something. Ooh, sour cream! And does tzatziki count? Or nam pla? Or dipping sauces for dumplings? @2MamazinSeattle should know better than to ask me food questions.

    3. Tomorrow we are finally getting our car seats checked. Might make lobsters for my aunt to thank her for coming out to help us. Sunday I think we are having dinner with the fam. I'd like to fit in a little photo shoot for birth announcements, but who knows.

    1. What's the farthest you've ever traveled? Tell us about that trip! (And, if you haven't traveled far, then tell us about your best trip!)

I went to New Zealand in 1998 (just accidentally typed 2008, whoops - I'm that old) with my rugby team.  What an amazing country!  But I think my best trip was when my Sister and I backpacked through Europe together for 2 months.  I wouldn't necessarily want to do that trip, that way, again now but it was magnificent at the time.

    2. What's your favorite condiment? Feel free to elaborate!

Martini?  Seriously.  No?  Okay fine.  Horseradish.

    3. What's up this weekend??

We have no real plans, which is fine.  There's always tons to do around the house, though I doubt we'll get much/any of that done either.  Some friends are having their annual pig roast tomorrow and I'd like to go to that.

Gabe has transitioned from 2 naps/day to 1 this week in daycare. So I imagine a big part of this weekend will be spent figuring out how that translates at home.

No matter what, I'm just excited that on the the weekends I get to spend more than 2 1/2  waking hours a day with my kid (that's our average for weekday - sucks)!

  • 1. What's the farthest you've ever traveled? Tell us about that trip! (And, if you haven't traveled far, then tell us about your best trip!) Prague in November 2009. We've been to Italy before that and I've been to Greece many years before that, but Prague topped the list. It was freezing but it's so beautiful there. The architecture just takes my breath away.
    2. What's your favorite condiment? Feel free to elaborate! Mayo! I love to dip French fries in it lol.
    3. What's up this weekend?? Try to get through the rest of TWW, some songwriting and video games, maybe hangout downtown if the weather's good.

  • 1. What's the farthest you've ever traveled? Tell us about that trip! (And, if you haven't traveled far, then tell us about your best trip!) Honolulu, HI. L had a conference there 12y ago and I found an insanely cheap flight ($300/roundtrip from the east coast) and went with her. We didn't have much money and shared a room with one of her professors that she was presenting with and we were only there 3-4 days, but it was fun and romantic in its own way. :)

    2. What's your favorite condiment? Feel free to elaborate! Honey mustard dressing or horseradish mayo.

    3. What's up this weekend?? Tonight is a convoluted mess of L picking up the kids from camp, taking them to dinner, me meeting them to pick up the kids to take them home and L going to get a pedi. Tomorrow friends are coming over and spending the day (and perhaps the night.) No idea about Sunday - the kids' godparents might be in town (they live overseas right now.)

  • 1. I traveled to Europe after my junior and senior years in high school (courtesy of my grandmother). I traveled with a group of classmates (and chaperones) and we toured a number of European cities over two weeks - London, Paris, Venice, Rome, Florence, Berlin, Amsterdam, Lucerne and a few more. I wasn't friends with anyone on the first trip, but several good friends went on the second trip and it was a blast. I'm aching to go visit Europe again, but I imagine it will be many more years before that can happen... Something to look forward to. :)

    2. Siracha or salsa (I do live in Texas after all!). Before I met Z I didn't tolerate a lot of heat, but she has converted me!

    3. Early dinner with friends tonight, pool time with a friend and her baby who is the same age as Ash in the morning. Going to meet a coworker at the office tomorrow to finally move allyhe crap out of our old offices into our new ones (just no time during the week). Then hanging out with Z's mom, sister, niece, and nephews on Sunday. They live in Mexico, but stay in San Antonio for about a month each summer, so we'll probably be seeing them the next few weekends. Most excitingly, I'm going to try and leave work a half hour early today. Woohoo!

  • 1. What's the farthest you've ever traveled? Tell us about that trip! (And, if you haven't traveled far, then tell us about your best trip!)  I had to jump on Google maps to get the coordinates. From San Francisco the furthest I've traveled is Bali, Indonesia.  EV and I took a 22 day trek in 2009/2010 through Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and China.  We traveled for part of the time with a friend, and had a great time visiting ruins, snorkeling and exploring cities. It was a whirlwind trip, but so much fun. We love traveling and have been to 33 countries so far, but never to the the African continent... We'll see hopefully its in our future.

    2. What's your favorite condiment? Feel free to elaborate! I
s cheese a condiment?  I'd say ketchup. I love ketchup and chicken, and I love chicken.   Chicken breast with a side of ketchup is often a snack Kaden and I enjoy.

    3. What's up this weekend??
EV's working from home today. I was up early getting housework done. I hope to take the kids to our gym this afternoon to go swimming and then drop them off in play-care and work out.  Saturday and Sunday are a blank slate...  I'm feeling both tired and adventurous. EV proposed another road-trip but I think we'll do day trips instead. I'd like to maybe go to Santa Cruz to the beach on Saturday, and maybe San Francisco or the Napa Valley Train town on Sunday.  We'll see. It could be we spend the weekend at home.

  • 1. What's the farthest you've ever traveled? Tell us about that trip! (And, if you haven't traveled far, then tell us about your best trip!)

The farthest would be New Zealand, for two of my very good friends wedding in 2008.  It was pretty amazing... beautiful, you can drink water straight out of their streams and there are no snakes.  We were there for 18 days... and went roller luging, sand sledding, swimming in the ocean, white water rafting, sailing, shopping and more!

    2. What's your favorite condiment? Feel free to elaborate!

I am embarrassed to say it.... but I am a true child of the south... and could put ranch dressing on anything.  I am a total wuss when it comes to spicy stuff (no seriously, my two year old niece can tolerate spice better than me.)

    3. What's up this weekend??

Another weekend off!  2 in a row?  That is good... I have worked multiple double digit hour days this week and am exhausted.  Tonight:  date night in...  Tomorrow: farmer's market, dog trainer and maybe a movie Sunday:  must. mow. grass.

    1. Greece. I went with a school group my Junior year of high school. We were there for a week and visited Athens, Mykonos and a few smaller islands off the coast. Ironically, my mother's family is from Greece, but I have never been with my mom. She went with my sisters a couple of years ago, but I was unable to go because of work. I really would love to go back. Since my wife and I have both been to Greece (albeit separately) it isn't at the top if the travel wish list. My wife would like to explore new places first. We have been to the UK, Italy, Spain and France also. I think it will be several years before we get to travel abroad again, so that gives me time to dream up where to go next...

    2. So this isn't really a condiment, but it lives in the side door of the fridge with all the condiments, so I am going to pretend it counts. Grated Parmesan cheese! I could put it on anything. Salads, soup, cooked veggies, etc.

    3. We don't have any set plans yet for tomorrow. For Sunday we are planning to see some friends who want to meet Will, then go to the outlets so I can get some clothes to wear when I go back to work the week after next. I am not excited.

Oh, how could I forget ranch?  So delicious.  I have no shame.  We buy jars of the mix at BJ's and make the dressing with mayo and buttermilk.  Somehow this makes me feel like it is less unhealthy/processed than buying it in the squeeze bottle. :)

The farthest I've ever traveled is London, England. C and I went for work when we were first dating. It was a work trip but also the first trip we took as a couple. It was really fast but amazing!

    2. What's your favorite condiment? Feel free to elaborate!

We are condiment people. Our fridge is full of condiments but if I had to say a favorite it would be honey mustard. I love it.

  • 1. What's the farthest you've ever traveled? Tell us about that trip! (And, if you haven't traveled far, then tell us about your best trip!)
I'm not sure which is farther from me, Mexico or California.  I went to Mexico on a Spanish language trip in high school.  It was pretty awesome, other than the fact that I got sick and had to miss out on one of the activities that I was looking forward to the most.  We went to Cancun (which I didn't care for), Chicen Itza, Merida and Cozumel.  In May 2013 we went to California for my SIL's graduation for her doctorate.  We traveled all over - San Fran, Avenue of the Giants, Monterrey Bay, Hearst Castle.  The majority of our driving was done on the Pacific Coast Highway.  It was beautiful.

    2. What's your favorite condiment? Feel free to elaborate!
I would have to say ketchup, though I also love my Mom's zucchini relish.

    3. What's up this weekend??
Well, tomorrow will be my ER at 8 am  :-O  Then I'm guessing that I'll be couch/bed bound for most of the weekend.  I bought the first season of Orange is the New Black so I'm looking forward to binge watching it.  I will probably also read.  It should be a pretty quiet weekend.

    Me: 30  DW (aka C): 29

Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

    ***CP mentioned***

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

  • Wow! What great participation this week! Fun to read all the responses... :)

    1. I had to use a distance calculator, but Sydney won out over Lampang, Thailand by about 500 miles. So right before our first ET in Nov/Dec 2012 I went to Sydney and then Auckland for work. My sister tagged along the whole time, and J came for a week of it too. Those two had a blast while I worked :(. BUT it was pretty cool to be there and check the box. I liked NZ more than Sydney, but have a feeling I'd have loved Melbourne if we could've gotten there. WAY back when, mid 90's, I went to Thailand while I had a friend living there. It was my first trip to Asia and changed my view of the world in a big way. I'd been to Europe, but this was crazy from a culture shock perspective, and a view of poverty, etc.

    2. Condiment.Whore. I love ALL condiments but ketchup and mayonnaise would probably be my two top picks if I was on a desert island kind of thing. Oh, and I think I'm the only person on earth who hates hates hates Ranch. Bluck!!!

    3. I am pooped! I have a to-do list for the weekend with loads of work stuff I have to get done before next week (2 more weeks of work to go!!!); plus I have yoga, acupuncture (starting labor priming!) and a lake walk planned with one friend and a lunch date with another. Plus two shower items to return, and a few other errands, and a LOT of thank-you notes to write. We'll see how I do!
    Lil'mamaz was born on Aug 21, 2014! She's PERFECT!
