I'm looking for some recommendations for a midwife (or obgyn) in RI. I'm having trouble finding a practice that I feel comfortable with. Anyone have advice?
I don't live in RI but I'll be honest, I just used a local internet search. Our city has a birth network website that listed many practitioners. Then I cross-referenced the names on Yelp (sorry, I'm a sucker for reviews), called some for phone interviews, then went from there. If you're planning on using insurance you may want to begin with your provider list to make sure your practitioner is in-network. My problem is that some midwives at our birth center were in-network and some were not. Since you don't know which one you will definitely get on your delivery day, it's hard to say what will and won't be covered.
I use OBGYN Associates - the midwife practice. This will be my second baby (due in November) and they all are very nice. I delivered at Women & Infants and used the ABC room. Hope this helps!
