New to the Mom Club and the Birth Month Club!

Hello Everyone!
I am 5 weeks and 3 days along with my first, and expecting on March 16,2015! (Yay for March Moms!) I am new to the Birth Month Club and looking forward to having others that are due the same time as me and going through the same things! My first dr. appointment is tomorrow. Has anyone else been able to hear the heartbeat at 5wks 4 days? Or do you normally have to wait longer? Thanks for all y'all's expert opinions! :)

    Welcome and congratulations. That's pretty early for an appt, it must just be for confirmation, I doubt you'll be having a u/s and seeing a HB yet, definitely not hearing one.

    Congrats!  I had an u/s at 5 weeks 3 days (I was in the ER) and they were only able to see the sac, no fetal pole or heart beat.  And from what I have read online most people can't see/hear the heart beat then either.  At my appt yesterday I was able to see the baby and the heart beat!  Being patient sucks, but thats really the only thing you can do!

    Congrats and welcome!!! I had my second ultrasound today at 6w1d and they were able to see the heartbeat but it was on the slow side which the tech swore was normal for this stage so I go back in 2 weeks for another to make sure the rate increases. They did my first last Thursday which would have made me right around 5 weeks and they weren't able to see the heartbeat. Made me a nervous wreck for the week but just know that it's so tiny that early that you may not see it and that's 100% normal! Good luck!

    Welcome! This is my first pregnancy and I'm very excited too! From what I've read, you're a little early to hear a heartbeat, but good luck at the appointment! Take any questions you have with you!

    Welcome! My first appointment with DD1 was really like a welcome to pregnancy, here's what to expect type thing. I didn't have my first u/s until 7 weeks.

    Congrats! And like the others have said, it's quite early to hear or even see the heartbeat. Typically it's around 7 weeks that you can see it on a US, and with the doppler, somewhere around 12 weeks is normal unless you have a placenta previa. Good luck on your first appointment, and welcome!
