I am majorly confused….

This is our third cycle of TTC, but my first using Fertility Friend (I was using an app called Kindara before) and it's my first cycle using an OPK.

So here is where I am confused. My OPK has come back positive for the past 3 days. These aren't "squinters" or "maybes". For the past 3 days I have had very dark LH and Control lines. Is it normal for it to be positive for 3 days? I was under the assumption that once you had your LH surge, it wouldn't test positive any longer. But, again, I am a total noob with OPKs, so everything I "know" about them, I'm pretty much just pulling from random things I've read on the interwebs.

The second thing I am confused about is that according to my chart, I ovulated the day before I got my first positive OPK. Huh? Is that right?

Any insight would be appreciated. TIA.

Oh, and I am using the Target brand daily OPK, if that makes any difference.

OPKs aren't foolproof. They only detect surges and you might not O after a positive. You can have more than one surge in a cycle. I'm gonna go ahead and tag @jags8 here.

This was also my first cycle using OPKs, and I got positives for 4 days. Now today finally, I had a temp spike. FWIW, I think you ovulated on CD14 (not CD13 like FF thinks).

I did totally forget to put the negatives in on the 12th and 13th. I have gone back in and added those.

I see that takes away your solids and gives you dotted CHs. I'd bet FF moves your O date in a few days.

I noticed the change from solid to dashed lines as well. I am trying to find on FF what that means, but I'm having difficulties. Any ideas?

Seriously, thank you all so much for your help.

Why can't we just get a text message or something from our body that says "Hey, heads up, yo. If you want to make a baby, have all the sex now. If you don't want to make a baby, have none of the sex now. Talk to you next month!". That would make things so much easier.

I have had 3 pos days as well. I agree, looks like you o'd cd 14. Sometimes ff is not correct. I had to manually override my chart this month too because it was telling me the wrong day.

I don't temp, so I don't have much advice on that, but I have used the Target OPKs and I also would get multiple, like up to 5 days, of obviously positive results, and I'd almost always get squinters throughout my cycle. I used them for several months but they never worked well for me, I also switched to digitals and those have worked much better. Even if you're going to stay with strips or with the line reading ones, I recommend switching away from the Target brand strip OPKs.

Another vote to switch OPKs. I had many days of + with the Target brand, and only mayyyybe one full day of + with Wondfo.

I agree with PP that you probably O'd on CD14. In the future I would recommend Wondfo OPKs you can get on Amazon. They are cheaper than in store brands and it's what most people use around here, unless they are using digital tests.

I can get up to 6 days of positive opks with FMU. I would recommend thinking about testing later in the day.
