DS's birthday party (he turns 5) is Saturday, and this is the first party we've invited children of non-family members. So, I thought I'd put together small gift bags for each of the kids. I'm trying to decide if I give something to DH's cousin's son, who is 10 months old. That would require getting completely different things than I got for the rest of the kids (who are over 2 years old). I just don't know what kinds of inexpensive things I could find for an infant. Thoughts? Opinions? Thanks!!

I would just make identical gift bags and let the parent's decide whether it is age appropriate for their child. I've received items that I've either held on to until DD got old enough to play with them or I just tossed them.
I know some parents HATE them, but seriously, little things in life make kids happy.
bubbles, chalk, necklaces, little purses, badges, tattoos....
Every child loves bubbles. For babies, parents can blow the bubbles and entertain them.
One great idea we received was those little travel packs of coloring books/crayons that sell for $1. I love that I can stash this in my bag for emergency purposes.
A kid-size colorful ball is fun to play with and no big deal to (oops) lose.
One friend gave buckets stuffed with loads of items and I had commented to her how much I loved the theme bucket - we repurposed it to hold chalk. So the next year she said she decided (based on my comment) to stick with the bucket idea. Awesome - now we have another one for crayons! Now she put in WAY more items than I've done at DD's first two parties which is super generous. But the overall effect was cute for kids - they must feel like they hit the jackpot!
