My hubby and I are TTC I have a 3 1/2 year old who was born via emergency c section. My first labor was very traumatic and I don't intend on doing a vbac for my second child, my doctor usually performs c sections for the second birth if the first was c section. I'm just wondering if there is a way for my body to go into labor naturally or if I will have to have a scheduled c section.
I'm looking to hear other stories of second time c sections! I am a little nervous and scared and unsure of what to expect because my first birth went terribly wrong and I wound up having to be put under and had an emergency c section after 20 hours of labor and resulted in my son being in the NICU for 8 days. I appreciate any and all stories!!

As to your question about whether your body will go naturally? -- Yes, I believe it can. I am on a progesterone shot to stay pregnant. DD is due next month and our goal is to make it to 37 weeks. My OB has stated that I could go into labor after the last shot wears off, or I could make it to the scheduled date. No matter what its a CS. My OB has also stated that she has seen first babies go with a few bumps on the road, and then the second goes perfectly as designed. You just never know. Your OB knowing your history will change everything the second time around. You will probably not go through labor (at least not that long) bc a CS is not an option. So the trauma of that will disappear, if not entirely.
I also had a C-section under general anesthesia with my 1st. I had a scheduled C-section with #2 but didn't want to have it too early. It was performed at 39w5d.
I am having #3 scheduled at 39w6d.
Not that I really want to go into labor, but the later you schdedule, the more likely you are to go into labor.
~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

My IF blog
Recovery has had some issues this time, but overall the actual c-section experience was much better than my first one.
