Anyone considered the movie theater yet?

We think we'll take A to see Planes 2. We have a local theater that has tables, Lincoln Town Car chairs, and meal/dessert service. Kids 4 and under are free. We figured if we try a weekday matinee once the excitement of its opening wears, it may be pretty low-key.

I know 2 is young, but is anyone else thinking about attempting a movie theater trip this summer? He can sit through a short movie if it interests him.

Re: Anyone considered the movie theater yet?

  • It's on my summer to do list. I want to take her to see Rio 2. My problem is she doesn't sit for all of her fave movies at home. She kind of wanders around the living room but she sits for chunks of it. So who knows how it will go.

Another option this theater offers is "sensory friendly" showings where the lights are dimmed, movie is quieter, and no 3D. It's marketed towards family with kids on the spectrum or other special needs.

I considered trying one of these with him, but I don't want to "take a seat" from a kid with special needs and DH thinks he couldn't handle that "talking, walking around, and singing along is encouraged."
