Twins in a small master br?

Anyone have their twins room in with them and have a small bedroom? I've always had my singletons in the room with us in a bassinet next to our bed the first 3 months. Our new house we are in has a very small master bedroom, which is making it hard for two bassinets to fit. Has anyone been in this situation and what did your twins sleep in? I'm hesitant to have them share a bed but I'm also hesitant to start them in their own room from day 1. I'm curious about your thoughts and input or maybe there's a travel product for small spaces I'm overlooking. TIA!

Re: Twins in a small master br?

  • Rock n plays take up the least amount of room. We have a very small master (the whole house is small), but we've also had them in their own room from the day they came home. We couldn't even have fit 2 RNPs in our master so we really didn't have any other option.

  • @carrotcake06 Thanks for the input! Yeah, that seems to be our best option too at this point, starting them in their own room. I think I just need to get used to the idea.

We put one crib in our br and have them sharing it (I wouldn't feel comfortable having them share a pnp). It's worked well for the first 2 months but we're now at the point where we'd like to get them in their own cribs and that's going to mean having them in a different room from us.
  • We haven't had our twins yet but we have a small master and their room will be on another floor so we need a way for them to be with us the first months. I've thought about getting a twin pack n play with two newborn napper attachments.
  • We used the graco twin pack and play next to our bed that was perfect for us. It is a little bigger that a regular pack n play but we used that until they were 4 1/2 months old. It has the two built in bassinets so they each have their own space. My boys never really liked sleeping together all snuggled so we kept them separate. We still have it in our room without the bassinets for them to play in. Our master bedroom isn't super big either and it fits fine.

Did you have issues with it sagging? I want to get one for our babies but I heard somewhere that the twin version sags sometimes.
  • Mine were together in an arms reach cosleeper. Same thing as a pack n play. kept them like this until 5 months. Now one is in that & other in pack n play. I can't get in my closet but I wear the same few outfits anyway. When they were swaddled I had no issues with them sleeping together. Once rolling we seperated.
  • We have small master bedroom - our girls are in rock n plays...they block our access to the closet, but I am not ready for them to be in their crib/room yet.  In the beginning I slept on the couch and had them in their rock n plays (Fischer Price) next to the couch.  But my back paid a steep price for that.  So now we are in the bedroom.

  • We had a small master when my twins were born. We made space on my side and they slept side by side in RNPs for 5 months.
