labor?!

in 3rd Trimester
I've been having sever period like cramps in my lower abdomen and back for the last 3 hours, they come and go.

they started a little longer and further apart, some of them close to a minute long and about 25-30 minutes apart but now they are about 30 seconds long and 5-10 minutes apart.

Does this inconsistency mean it isn't labor? or is labor inconsistent at first?

    BH contractions never hurt me before they were only pressure as oppose to these am feeling. and they are not going away when I change position or get up/lay down

    Go take a walk.  Even if the contractions are strong, if you are not consistent, and/or not making progress...they will send you home.  I found out the hard way on Tuesday and now I have no contractions, no Braxton hicks, no back ache, no nothing.  Good Luck and I hope you get your LO soon.

    You know when you are in labor, there is no mistaking labor contractions. Inconsistent contractions will get you sent home. I was told to walk around the hospital for an hour to start up consistent labor but was ultimately sent home. I got to contract like that for 2 weeks before my induction.

    If you are 41 weeks pregnant I would guess this is the beginning of labor. It might not be today, but your body is getting ready.

    That's how my labor started with DD. Started on a Monday and didn't go in to the hospital until Wed night when were 5 min apart consistently. At 41 weeks I don't think it's going to be anything but the real deal! Good luck!
