Trouble TTC

Work/RE questions

Hi ladies!

I asked a questions few weeks back and y'all were so a amazing over here! I'm going to be making my RE appt soon (I've been holding off I'm extremely nervous) so that's why I haven't intro'd over here yet I was waiting to see the RE..

Any who I have a confirmed dx of pcos and provera seems to be my best friend. I'm a nurse and I work 3 12 hour shifts a week. I am concerned when it comes to seeing the RE on certain days of my cycle my work schedule getting in the way. Does anybody have this same issue and how do you deal with it?

Thanks!!

Hi!  I'm an RN working 3 twelve hour night shifts a week.  I applied for intermittent FMLA so that I can get to appts without calling in sick.  The ultrasounds are ok, I just go in the mornings after my shift.  It's the procedures and IUI that get in the way.  I'll work the night before and then have to stay up all day for IUI and then there's no way I can go back to an overnight shift on less than 2 hours of sleep, so I use my FMLA.  Good luck!

That's a great idea I'll look into that!

  • I'm a teacher and right now I'm on summer vacation, but I know that as soon as I go back to work I'll have appointments scattered. I plan to take half-day sick calls. It's the only way I can make it work. I'm going to try to see if I can schedule appointments as early as possible as I don't have a core class until 8:30. I can get coverage for HR and 1st period.

  • Same with me, I teach, so right now the appointments aren't bad. School starts at 8:30, so I can usually get a para to cover me until 9:00 ish. I will be talking with my principal about my IUI/IVF so she knows too. She did IVF, so I hope she is understanding.
  • When I work daylight the shift is 7a-730p :( I'm going to look into the fmla thing forsure
