Have you been charting? Do you use OPKs? Have you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility? There's a chance you're not late at all, but you just ovulated later than you usually do. More information please.

Oh my god my period is starting! Someone tell me I'm pregnant so it changes reality because that's how shit works!
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.
It may be just your period starting or sometimes stress may play a factor and delay your period. In any case, you can always get a blood test to find out for sure. Best of luck!

She has negative pregnancy tests and she's bleeding. Why would she get a blood test?
Because the urine test might be wrong, even if it is and sounds unlikely. When I got pregnant the home tests were negative, but I was spotting and it wasn't my period. A blood test revealed a pregnancy which unfortunately ended in mc. Again, this is just my opinion based on my own experience.

Not all HPTs are super sensitive. If your beta hCG level was enough to be considered pregnant (>5) but too low at that time to turn the tests you were using (>50 for some), then this would explain getting a positive on a blood test but not on your urine tests at home... especially if time passed between your last urine test and the blood test, since hCG would likely still be increasing.
But regardless, your experience is anecdotal. There's this myth about a prevalence of inability to turn a pee test until several weeks into pregnancy or not at all and that's NOT common in the least, it's quite rare no matter what dubious anecdotes get passed around the internet.
