MyBabyBeat App

Has anyone heard of this app/used it in previous pregnancies? I'm only 5 weeks 6 days so I realize it's probably too early to hear a heartbeat yet but I went ahead and spent $4.99 on this app lol. I'm an L&D nurse and one of my coworkers mentioned it yesterday so of course I went home and downloaded it. If anyone else has it let me know when you hear your baby's heartbeat for they first time! (PS Don't drive yourself crazy if you don't hear it yet!...it's not even closely comparable to a TV US)

Re: MyBabyBeat App

  • I've seen it and recommended it to a friend who didn't have luck with it. Do you need an ear set with microphone?

  • By recommend, I meant told her about. I've never personally used it

  • Nope! If you have an iPhone you just put the bottom of your phone directly onto your skin and the sound plays trough the speaker at the top of the phone where you put your ear. I'm not sure about other types of phones.
  • This is super late, but I found the app and found the heartbeat at about 16 weeks :-). No headphones, just has to be kind of quiet. I like it now bc now I can listen whenever I want. Even sent a recording to DH :-). Per the reviews it does seem hit or miss depending in how you're carrying and other factors, but my ob has not had any trouble so it thought I'd give it a shot. Totally worth the $5 if it works!
  • Loved this app! Found my daughters heartbeat at 8 week 3 days! I swear by It. It's great for the price and highly recommend it since we had great success with it. I've since upgraded to a sonoline doppler but would still continue to use if I hadn't. I know many people will bash the app but when we showed my CNW she not only verified it was the heartbeat we were hearing but she said that for $5 you can't beat the accuracy and price. Note follow the walk through on the app first and don't be alarmed if you don't heart the heartbeat right away. Just like with a home doppler you gotta find the sweet spot ! I I hope you try it and love it as much as we did:)
  • Hubs is laughing at me because now I want to buy it so bad lol But baby always moves a lot when at every ultrasound or when they put the Doppler on me and I'm 16 weeks ... Maybe I'll wait until 20 weeks lol
  • Gosh, I always said I wouldn't go looking for the heartbeat myself route, but now at 18 weeks it's pretty tempting, especially since I'm a FTM and not really feeling anything yet. Hmmmm.

I remembered I had a leftover iTunes gift card so just downloaded it after reading the comments on here. I'm 19 weeks, found his heartbeat right away, then he moved on me and no luck after that! But it was neat to know it works. Fun app to have!
  • Am I missing something? Why is OP who is 5 weeks, posting in dec 2014 about an app she thinks ppl should buy? Smells like advertising to me.

    It is a zombie thread

I am also having a really hard time believing this actually works. The microphone in your iPhone can really pick up a heart beat through fat and muscle? :::side eye:::
