So how was YOUR day (TMI?) Long

So yesterday I called my OB to ask if it was "normal" to stand up and have tan fluid run out of you. Not regular discharge, I didnt pee myself. It was a puddle. It was like water. Ive never experenced this (pregnancy joy). They thought it may be amniotic fluid leaking. They told me to go straight to the ER. When I get there and check in, I over hear the two receptionists talking about whether to send me upstairs or keep me downstairs. The one woman says "Shes 19 weeks. 20+ weeks goes upstairs. Under 20 stays downstairs for a possible loss". Now im freaking out. My phone was about to die. When I get to the room, the DR feels my belly and asks about pain level. I told him that I was not in pain. He asked me if I could still feel the baby. More tears. But yes, i could. Then I have an ultrasound. They wouldnt let me see the screen or ask any questions :(. Im especially nervous since I also had a scare at 11 weeks when I bled alot of bright red blood. After being there over 5 hours, im cleared to go home. They said it may have been a part of the mucus plug with runny discharge. No ruptures, rips, or amniotic fluid. Baby is healthy and growing fine. Amniotic fluid is normal. Thank God. Then I find out that that ultrasound took the place of my scheduled anatomy ultrasound on July 25th. I did not find out the sex yesterday and they did not document the sex. I did not see my beautiful baby :(. Now, obviously the most important thing is that baby is fine! But still, its disappointing. I understand my insurance doesnt pay for a "happy" ultrasound and the important things were reviewed and documented but it was such a sad and frightning substitute. I asked how much it would be to pay out of pocket for the scheduled ultrasound. Forget it...thousands of dollars (hospital). So I scheduled an elective ultrasound at a non-hospital location for $100.00 on the 25th to find out the sex...so we can still have our small reveal BBQ on the 27th (we will find out the sex at the BBQ too). So in the end, everything turned out okay and we will find out the sex as planned. But what a crazy, unexpected day yesterday. I just wanted to see my bean. At least I still will soon :). Allllllllllll that matters is having a healthy baby. I feel for everyone else who has also had scares and ER trips. We are basically half way there ladies. Getting closer.....

  • What a rough experience for you.  So glad baby is doing well.  I would have opted for another ultrasound as well - hopefully you'll be able to replace the memory of today with that one.

  • Oy scary! But good that its not amniotic fluid, that was my first thought. Yay for a still healthy baby that is staying put.

  • That is so scary. I'm sorry you have to deal with this.

I had a similar experience (I'd peed my pants though. Classy) and when I called the nurse had me go to the ER. It was very scary!

  • Thanks gals. @beachy6‌ ...thank you for sharing your classy comment :\"> . Its funny but its not :). I would be scared too! I was offended when the doctor asked me if I peed (as if that was my biggest worry????). Lol. But seriously, i dont pee tan :).
  • @JulieSC81 Could you have an infection? Seriously, the tan makes me think it could be a bacterial infection. A symptom of BV is tan/brown discharge. I've now had BV, two uti's, and a yeast infection. I'm the queen of gross crap coming out of my vagina these days. And, I pee myself.

@beachy6‌ ....im going to get very tmi here since you also know about gross crap X_X . I have had the WORST vagina ever this pregnancy. Everything was so "normal" with DS 5 years ago! No concerns. This time is crazy! I have had every color come out of me X_X . Even...green!!!! I called my OB immediately with the green "snotty" vagina. I insisted they check me for every infection, disease, and STD that Dr Google diagnosed me with lol. They giggled but humored me and tested me. I have been tested for everything. Nothing weird going on. Not even any weird symptoms like itching. My OB said that the crazy hormones can cause the discharge to be green, yellow, tan, you name it!!!! Just "lovely" colors. Seriously. Everything from tan to green to black. I hope no one is eating dinner anytime soon :-S .
  • Ha! I hear ya on that. I had such a normal pregnancy with DS. I'm not sure that is going to be the case this time! I had no clue things can happen down there that have been happening! Is it December yet??

  • Omg...exactly...December please! I feel so gross. No amount of tiaras and lipstick could make me feel pretty right now 8-> .
  • Thank you again for the compassion, ladies :). I love this board and all the snarky, loving ladies here :x . @MissChristineMarie‌ , yes they did everything that a regular anatomy scan does. Measurements and all. They just didnt document the sex, I didnt see my bean, and I didnt even get a picture. Just a typed up report of the measurements :(( . However, all is great and measuring ahead actually. But yeah, they said they were doing everything of a typical anatomy scan and it would replace the one I have been looking forward to. So I'm getting the creepy 3D ultrasound that I thought I never wanted ;)
  • They did everything...As far as they told me and from what I gather from their report. I can call my insurance and OB to double check though. I was told by two people that they checked everything and it is everything that an anatomy scan covers. It did feel like a complete ultrasound...minus all the happy stuff and smiles. I think they did a thorough scan due to the concern. I can double check though.
  • The report discusses organs seen and measurements and everything...
  • Yikes! Glad you and baby are ok!
