So im 10 wks today and all i want to eat is s+v crisps! I couldnt eat dinner last night and ate a big bag of s+v crisps instead.. Is this harmfull to baby? I feel so bad eating only these but theyre so much netter to stomach than a meal..
Deep River makes dill pickle crisps. It's the kettle cooked kind. I have a pack of that and a pack of Rosemary & olive oil crisps in my emergency snack drawer at work.
Shearer's makes a hot dog flavored chip I craved pre-pregnancy, they sound disgusting but really just taste like mustard - which I guess is also kind of gross....but I love them!
This post is evil! I haven't ate s&v chips in years...well hubbys been begging to cut DS hair and I've been refusing to allow it.....I just allowed him to cut it if he in turn went to store to get me the chips! I've reached an all time low!
Just my opinion and this is assuming you don't have any health complications - at this point, eat what you can stomach, when you can stomach it. If you can handle something else that is a little more nutritious, try to mix it up a bit. If there are times when that's all that sounds good or will stay down, go for it. Once the nausea eases up, you can focus a bit more on balanced nutrition. I also find that eating smaller amounts is easier for me, rather than eating what would have been a normal meal pre-pregnancy.
I know that my mom lived almost solely on baked potatoes for the first few months of her pregnancy with me, and I turned out just fine

Ughhhh first off, now I want salt and vinegar chips and no other chip will satisfy me.
But honestly would eating a bag of s&v chips pre pregnancy be a good idea? It's not going to do much to you besides be incredibly unhealthy. Quite a bit of sodium in those chips, which can be harmful to your body. I'm not a doctor so don't quote me but I don't think it does too much to the baby right now. I would say indulge a little but don't make a habit of it.
I don't understand why you think this could be bad for the baby? It's chips, not poison. Eat what you can if you're not feeling well. I've been living off of toast with olive oil (weird craving). Just don't make it a daily habit. If you can stomach chips, maybe you can handle some other salty, carby things? Like toast, baked potatoes, etc. Try to branch out, there's no nutritional value to chips so its better to no make it a daily thing.
I went through a phase of salt&vinegar chips too (now I've graduated to BBQ, lol) sometimes i ate pickles instead, it gives the same satisfying acidic taste I was looking for but i felt less guilty!
Probably not the healthiest choice but first trimester is about survival. Do what you need to do lady

Try to add a little veg in there, at the very least. While it is so tough to find something appealing, try to remember that you need to stay healthy so you can properly grow your little munchkin. Otherwise, more power to the chip. Lately, I've been enjoying sour cream and cheddar with french onion dip

About a week ago I ate a bag of salt and vinegar chips and a jar of olives for dinner. I gave no fucks or thought to how it would be 'good' or 'bad' for baby.
Unless you are eating only chips every meal, every day, for weeks don't worry about it.
like @crazycornball, I will also be eating deli meat and S+V chips for lunch.
Eat what you can! I walk by the vending machine every time I fill my water bottle and am fighting off a Cheetos craving. Pre-pregnancy I would never, in 10 million years, considered buying those orange dyed salt licks but now I'm afraid I will have to get a bag. S&V chips come with way less shame than Cheetos!
My OB said eat whatever I can now, she said her 1st trimester she lived off onion rings and lemonade. I can only eat toast with garden veg cream cheese, eat what you can and worry about nutrition your 2nd trimester!

Fuck the shame! Cheetos are delicious!

Aw! You guys suck! I already took my lunch hour, and I think I would murder someone for bag of cheetos, S&V chips, or Lay's Limon flavored. My mouth is watering!

I live in NJ now, but back when I lived in western New York they had dill pickle potato chips, they where like salt and vinegar but better!!!! I miss them
I hear ya, I've been craving Sour Cream and Onion Cheddar Ruffles all day. I can't stomach the thought of a green salad and chicken dinner but chips sound amazing.. So weird.
This thread just made my day. Anyone eating lunch meat though make sure you are zapping it in the microwave first! I'm on a hot banana pepper ring kick. Can eat an entire jar! Anything with salt sour and pickeled I'm in.

I see your salt & vinegar crisps and raise you flamin' Cheetos.
I'm eating them with chopsticks, not even getting Cheetos yumminess all over my keyboard.
