Re: Throat Punch Thursday!

  • My TP is to my dad and brother again. Abuela's surgery is Friday and they *still* haven't made an effort to come out. Well, my day's van broke down, but he's still on my shit list for other reasons. I just sent my brother a tell-off message. I love him and we get along great, but he can be such a douche castle sometimes.

not quite a TP but WHINE to my MIL for blabbing on and on last night for what seemed like 20 minutes about people who get KU over and over again and don't want/can't care for their babies. So not what I needed to hear about when I'm struggling to conceive.

Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF. I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).

We are using open ID donor sperm. IUIs #1-7=BFN. IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).

  • I'd like to TP my online English teacher for numbering the weeks as modules and come to find out Week #8/Mod #8 which technically should be due today was due 2 weeks ago.  So the work mod was posted as week 8 but was due before week 6 and 7.  And he's being a total douchcanoe and not accepting any late submissions.  The entire class missed the deadline.  He also refused to put up a calendar with what is due when.  To top it off you have to dig through 36 pages of typed word documents with 13 different types of font figure out what the date work is due. and it's usually this big

Another TP to my allergies that have kicked into overdrive.  I work up this morning thinking it was mega windy and here it was all the fluid in my ears.  I feel like I'm drunk and I haven't had a drink in weeks.

@darcyhermione & @emmuffy so sorry! Sometimes moms mean well, but just don't think things through. My mom frequently has word vomit when talking about IF/TTC. I've called her out on it a few times, so I think she's learning.

  • @murrt Oh no! Insurance is so annoying! If it makes you feel any better ours only covered testing but we just got billed for the blood work because that's not testing? Like what is covered then, just the consult and SA I guess. I'm going to have to call and ask but it's very frustrating to think you have coverage (and I called ahead to check) and then have them change it! Hugs!

I'd like to TP this week for giving you all such a hard time. :( (((HUGS))) all around.

@theholmanherd - praying for your abuela.
  • (((HUGS))) to everyone that needs them!

Another TP: I've been working out 1-2 times per day (small workouts on the multiple days; sometimes I'm too busy to do it all at once). Do you know what I have to show for it? All the weight I haven't lost! I seriously haven't lost a single pound and I've been working out for 13 days straight. I even dumped my calorie-dense frappuccinos and learned to like plain lattes sprinkled with cinnamon (a big change for me) AND drinking 7-8 bottles worth of water (reusable, 16oz bottle). I just don't get it. I was feeling so motivated and now I just feel like gagging when I see food and I feel so ashamed. It was not this hard to lose weight before, but now I can't get the scale to budge for anything. I should have lost 2-4lbs by now (according to the idea that you should lose 1-2lbs per week). I'm so discouraged. This was the only thing I felt good about this whole trip (as far as something to relieve my stress) and now it's fucking ruined because it's just stressing me out more. FUCK.

tl;dr Haven't lost a single pound in the 2 weeks I've worked out every day straight. I've even been drinking the appropriate amount of water and choosing a healthier caffeine route. It was great stress relief until I got on the scale this morning and realized how useless it was.

**WARNING on this first TP - Children mentioned**

I'd like to TP my MIL for making us have yet ANOTHER sit down with her this evening about boundaries. Without going in to a full blown rant...MIL apparently has to be reminded that talking about killing herself (when she doesn't get her way) in front of my children absolutely unacceptable. And the fact that I have to even have to schedule a sit down to tell her this when she's a 48 year old woman...makes me want to TP her again.

Also to insurance companies...because they SUCK.

Other than that, I really hope you ladies all have a wonderful Thursday. Almost the weekend!

  • @Chasity08, that's messed up. I'm glad you're setting boundaries with her. Have you read the book Boundaries? By Cloud and Townsend? That helped me a lot with my dad and my MiL and FiL. It really makes you see people differently. I can laugh at some of it now, because it's so clear how maladjusted some people are. Anyway, I hope you come to a resolution with your MiL. I know how obnoxious those can be.

But you know what? That terrible, guilty feeling you get means you're doing the right thing. When you have an issue with boundaries with someone, that means there is a boundary issue on your end as well and your judgement of the situation becomes muddled. I cut my dad out my life for several months because of his self-destructive behavior and it worked wonders for a while. Now that he's reverting back to his old ways, it's possible I will cut him off again. Once you can come at things from a clearer perspective and with an understanding of the difference between hurtful and harmful, you'll be much better off. I highly recommend the book. If you aren't Christian, prepare for religious references, but seriously it's extremely helpful regardless. It's helped me so much. PM me if you have any questions.

  • @theholdmanherd - Thinking of you and your Abuela.

I haven't done a TP in a few weeks.  Today I would like to TP the fact that I feel like crap.  I'm triggering tonight for ER on Saturday and I think all of the hormones are finally catching up.  I felt pretty good this morning.  As the day has progressed, not so much.  I'm looking forward to ER and was hoping I would feel better once all the eggs were out.  Based on some recent posts on the IF board, it seems that the worst may be yet to come.  At least my ER is on the weekend, so I won't have to take time off from work.

Also, now that I'm thinking about it, TP to the fact that IVF is how we are having to attempt to create our family.

    Me: 30  DW (aka C): 29

Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

    ***CP mentioned***

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

  • @StacyLH24‌ good luck with your ER. TP to needing IVF but I really hope it works for you.

TP to my mother, for sending me the pic of my newborn baby cousin without even warning me she was in labor. Great to be smacked in the face with that right at lunchtime.

TP to my dog. For throwing up on DH's side of the bed who knows how many hours ago so that he is now totally pissed off and sleeping in the basement while I get to spend my entire night pouring and vacuuming up baking soda to try and remove the smell from our brand new mattress.

And finally TP to the RE's office for not having an opening for our initial consult for another month so now August is completely wasted too.

    Me: 24  DH: 26
