Ooooh! Thought of one! It drives me nuts when people refer to their children by sibling status. Like telling an older child to "hold sissy's hand". We were at the zoo with a good friend yesterday and she was constantly referring to her kids as sissy and bruh-bruh. They have names, use them. Or even "hold your sister's hand" would bug me less. I think it's the overt baby-talk of it that gets to me!
I hate those magazines that boast the articles with "real women" and picture them in their underwear.....sure they're not skinny models, but they are all attractive, well proportioned women. I'm plus size and I don't look a thing like those women. I'm smaller on the bottom but I carry my weight in my tummy....and what about women with chunky thighs, or flabby arms?
I love the idea of featuring real women, but when they specifically get the most well proportioned attractive women they can find, it kind of defeats the purpose. They all look like models, with just a little more meat on their bones.

I ain't ever had funfetti. I'm not sure I even know what it is.
it's just boxed cake with sprinkles in it. I've had it, but don't get the hysteria. My UO is I don't really like sprinkles. They are just weird things that get stuck in your teeth. With lots and lots of dyes.
I'm getting really tired of all the sleep threads.

I think phone cases and screen protectors are stupid. If the product won't hold up well enough to survive in a normal purse or pocket, they really need to work on their design and material durability. I shouldn't have to shell out another $70 after buying the $600 phone so it won't break if it bumps against my wallet a few times.
I'm sure I have another one. I'll post when it comes to me!
I like reading books...actual books. I refuse to use electronic devices to read books.
Me too. I am the same with CDs I don't like buying the entire album on iTunes I would rather have the item in my hands I love looking at the album artwork also.
I think saying "your child, your choice" is some passive aggressive bullshit, you might as we'll say "you're a shitty parent and I know everything." BUT, saying "my child, my choice" well that's just a polite way of saying "mind your fucking business"

How about toddlers dropping them? I think you'll want to shell out the money in a few years. But $70? And $600? What kind of cover and phone is that?!

I'm tired of all the sleep threads turning into the Painolympics. I hate that every time someone posts about their baby no longer sleeping through the night or only sleeping four hour stretches, the immediate response is "well you should be grateful because my baby..."
Why can't we just support each other and offer advice? And I say this as a mom who only gets 2 hour stretches.
katykatykaty it's an iPhone. If you buy one without signing a 2-year contract around here (chicago area) they cost an arm and a leg. I had a silicone-rubbery case thing on it just so I could set it on the dash without it sliding all over the place while I drove but it got stretched out and started blocking the camera, so I went to best buy to get a new case. omggggg so pricey! for a piece of plastic! the 'good' cases were between $50-99. I ended up finding something in the clearance bin for $16.
I agree they can be cute, I just don't want to 'need' one.

But if you're like me and drop your phone alllll the time, yeah, I need that $60 case! I have an ugly, bulky Otter Box, I hate it, but I hated my husband griping at me for always dropping my phone with just a "cute" non-protective case on it more.

I think babies can go (basically) anywhere. I 100% believe taking my baby with me everywhere I go has helped make her an easy going baby.
I believe this too, unfortunately, MH does not, so we haven't hardly done anything in the last 4 months! But the things we have done, DS has done excellent! Slept through church, a graduation, a wedding....and every time I'm like "see, I told you so" he thinks it'll be easier once they are a year old. I'm like "nope!" and can't wait to say "see I told you so, again" LOL
At this age they are so content with being held, I haven't started foods yet, so don't have to worry about that. As long as we have diapers, wipes, and an extra set of clothes, we are good to go! I'm even taking LO to all my doctor's appointments (except maybe not the dentist) in the next 2 weeks!

I don't like blue cheese. It tastes like moldy cheese... which is gross.
Buuut, you do realize why it tastes like that, right? Because that is what it is. Sorry to state the obvious. :P I used to hate the dressing, then MH got me eating buffalo chicken wings and now I thoroughly enjoy it! But I don't want to eat the cheese by itself, or even have the dressing on a salad. Only with buffalo.
And seriously, buying a $70 phone case is absurd. I got mine for $10 with a groupon (actually I got 2 cause they effed up and sent me more than one!). It's a rubber case with a plastic case that fits over it, and I'm a total klutz and am surprised my phone is not completely destroyed. I also HAVE to have a screen cover, that is matte finish, because I cannot stand a shiny screen that I can't see in the light and has finger prints all over it. And lastly, why you would spend $600 to get an iphone is so beyond me. Sign up for a contract or get an older version that they sell for what $100, maybe even $50! Just a big ol' fat waste of money, IMO.
So, I thought of a UO. It's probably more popular than I think, although maybe not on the board. I loathe country music. I just can't. So terribly annoying.
I hate people kissing my kids on the lips (my husbands whole family does this). Kiss them on their cheeks or head like their daddy and I do. Kissing on the lips should be reserved for partners in my opinion
I almost always refer to Julia as "Baby Sister" when I'm talking about her to DS. It sorta started because that's always what he called her. I think it's cute and I don't care.
My UO: I think my Foldgers coffee (specifically Foldgers Gourmet Selections Vanilla Biscotti) is really good. I never like any other coffee as well. I think all other coffee sucks besides that.

I was thinking the same thing -- why are you spending $70 on a case?? And what phone do you have that costs $600???
I use a case because it makes my phone look less boring. Plus it means that DH and I, who have the same phone, never get them mixed up at home. There are plenty of reasons to have a case, and they don't mean you have a POS phone.
My phone case cost $99 it's "lifeproof".. I've dropped it numerous times, my toddler threw it in the pool and it's taken a royal beating.. Looks brand new! Definitely worth the money!
I didn't know that "sissy" was a legit nickname used for the word "sister". When DD1 called LO "sissy" I batsh!t freaked out on her.
I told her we NEVER EVER call LO that because it means coward (I would've said wuss, if she understood that) and LO is not a coward! Lord, I acted like she had used the R-word.

We're in the same boat. MH is much more nervous about him being in public even though he's usually great. We did take him to the dentist though when he was two months old (we scheduled back to back appointments) . J proceeded to have a blowout diaper all over me and the waiting room couch when MH was getting his teeth cleaned.
Too many people don't know the difference between being honest and just being rude.
I still don't get why weight threads get people so riled up. They are usually the main ones who like to tell you to "click the x" if you don't like a thread. But they can't do the same.
I still cannot and will not eat anything containing mayo or any food that has touched mayo. It's got to be the nastiest shit! Next to mustard and relish and salad dressing!

What kind of places do you take your lo to that most people wouldn't? any tips on handling challenging situations?
Well, from the beginning of her life if I needed something from town I would pack our happy butts up and go get it. So she was in the grocery store within a week of being born.
I've taken her to the store, Dr's office, post office, church, a youth group working with 10-12 year olds, adult church activities, rodeos, malls, every one of my siblings-in-laws homes. We've been camping (in a camper), we went on a weekend on a houseboat, and she went to work with me everyday for a month and a half.
I don't have any real "tricks" but I've always got extra blankets, minky burp clothes (she likes to rub her face on them) and always a back up binky. We're also EBF, so it's really easy for me to just NIP. Although she's starting to get thrasher while eating, so that easy factor may go down!
