I'm having a TMI lady bits issue...

So, since yesterday, I've been feeling this uncomfortable, swollen, irritated feeling inside my vag (this is the best I could come up with to describe it). Almost like I had some really rough sex and am just irritated from it (except we havent had sex in the last couple weeks). Its really strange.

Minimal to no itching. I do have some increased discharge going on, but it doesnt really look/smell funky, and its hard to tell if thats just pregnancy related anyway. I tried to get a look down there and it does look a little red and swollen, but again, no weird smell, and not really itchy. I never had this feeling when pg with my son, so its hard to say if its just a weird pg fluke or not. I did do a baking soda/warm water bath last night for good measure, which soothed it a little, but I still feel it today.

Would you call the dr? Or wait it out a couple days to see if it goes away? TIA, ladies. God damn all this funky shit going on with my body!

  • If it were me, I'd start taking a garlic supplement and call the dr. if that didn't get rid of it within a few days.

  • @JIT Man, all this garlic talk! Who knew it was good for YIs and all that jazz? Good to know!

  • Look at you lady bits with a mirror to see if any veins look swollen.  I had varicose veins in my vag with DD and what you described above were the first symptoms (minus the discharge - I just had that the whole time).  If your veins look inflamed or swollen the only treatment really is staying off your feet as much as possible.  The upside is that they do go away pretty quickly after birth.

  • I assume they didn't do a vaginal exam at your OB appointment? Those always left me feeling a little funky.

If it doesn't go away I would just ask the Dr.  in case you are getting an asymptomatic infection.

Actually the dr did a pap smear at my last appt. But I didn't really notice this feeling until yesterday. Although the pap was definitely more uncomfortable than usual.
