Boy issues....

Ok, so I am having a boy, but secretly wanted a girl! No worries, I'm over it. Went to target today to try and pick out his first little outfit. Stood in the baby section for what seemed like forever and couldn't find but one rack of boy clothes!!! I counted!! There were 12 racks of clothes in the baby section and 11 of them were filled with girl stuff! The only boy stuff they had was little sports themed outfits! Guess what!? My husband and I aren't into sports. That was why I originally wanted a girl! They are much easier to find things for. I have a girl and a boy right now and have always had an easier time with my daughter.
So, I started tearing up in target while my kids brought me girl pajamas trying to get me to buy those instead! It just wasn't a good trip to target!

  • I went to walmart today and they actually had some cute stuff for boys. I bought some pajamas and the cutest little outfit for 5 bucks. A couple of months ago, Target had some great boy stuff, but right now it sucks. Sorry you had a bad experience. But think of all of the money you will save when he is older!

  • Target selection isn't great. It's better for toddler clothes, but still not great. I go to carters a lot out of convenience. But it can be tough to find stuff without dogs, footballs etc. They do have some plain stuff though. Now my oldest is to the point he likes a lot of that stuff. Old navy is okay. So is gap but I never go because I hate the mall:)

Target sucks at boy clothes. Baby Gap, Gymboree, The Children's Place, OshKosh, Carter's all have really cute stuff. Old Navy is good for less expensive options.
  • Things like this always rub me the wrong way. Maybe it's because I'm a boy mom and I love it, and it seems like everyone wants a girl. There are plenty of cute boy clothes out there. Idk why your target only had one rack, but I know my target has a ton of them. It may seem like you can't find any, but I think that's because the girl stuff is always bright and sparkes so its hard to miss. Take your time looking and you'll find some of the most ridiculously cute things.

  • Target sucks for boy clothes.  My friend just had a baby boy and I went to Target to get her something and REALLY had to look to find something to buy.

For my boys, I usually shop at Crazy 8, Kohl's, Old Navy, etc.

  • This has been the story of my life since I had my son!  Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a little.  But I agree that its really easy to find cute girl and not so easy to find cute boy stuff.  I like Gap and Old Navy like pp's mentioned.  I've found cute Polo things at TJ Maxx but it has to be a good mark down for me to buy it.  I also like Carter's but a lot of their stuff has dumb sayings like "Daddy's Hero" and "Mommy's First Mate" (ew) on it so I have to pick and choose.

  • I too have a DD and DS. I am also hoping for another girl this time around for several reasons. All of our boy clothes will be out of season so I'll need a whole new wardrobe for this one if its a boy. And boy clothes always seem to have less choices and seem to be more expensive. Also girls clothes always seem to come as sets while boys are always sold separately. I've had the best luck at Carters.

Next is great for boys, we also go TKmax as there is loads of Ralph Lauren stuff for boys! And it's cheaper ☺️

  • Adorable stuff at department stores around me. I have gotten the cutest little sets - go during a sale or buy clearance off season and they can be really affordable.

I get sick of the typical brands you can find at target, kohls, carters, and walmart. I really like the Children's place and I have found a lot of cute boy clothes on Amazon.com.  For a coming home outfit or a cute christmas outfit try Etsy. They make a lot of cute custom onesies.

Baby Gap was always our favorite since our son was a newborn and now big kids Gap at 7yrs old...we also love American Apparel for organic and trendy basics!
  • We were registering in Babies R Us the other day and they have absolutely adorable baby boy stuff. In fact I had a lot harder time finding any cute baby girl stuff.
