Moms of girls/Hair cuts

Have you ladies gotten your DD's hair cut yet?  Part of me wants to so that her bangs aren't in her eyes, but part of me really wants it all just to grow out too.  I guess really, it comes down to being sick of the wild child comments re: her hair (it's thin like mine, so it tends to flip out on the sides) and trying to decide if we want to go for a cute pixie cute now or endure it a bit longer until she gets some length to it.

I wish we had enough hair to cut. I am jealous! It is growing, but I still have to put sunscreen all over her head when we go out so her scalp doesn't burn.
  • We had DD's hair trimmed when we were at Disney back in Nov because I wanted the "first haircut" certificate. Other than that, no. I let her bangs grow out so they're the same length as the rest of her hair now, and I just keep hair clips or bows in her hair to keep it out of her eyes (she's used to them b/c she's been wearing them since about day 1). I don't want to cut it b/c it's curly (neither DH nor I have curly hair, so not sure where hers came from) and it's so pretty...i'll probably let it grow out until brushing it becomes more of a fight than it's worth

  • I chopped DD's bangs and verified that I am not competent to cut hair.  I don't want to touch the rest of it but will probably cut her bangs again once they're in her eyes.  Here's hoping a do a better job next time!

  • I had A's bangs trimmed in the spring and wouldn't do it again. She is blonde-ish and her hair is fine so it too closely resembled a mullet for my liking. I had her sit on my lap and gave her animal crackers to keep her still

  • I have cut dd's hair 2 times because she was growing a baby mullet. Her bangs are not long enough to cut yet. This last time I cut it a little short but it will hopefully grow into a nice bob once the sides grow in more.

  • I haven't cut dd's hair yet, she has worked so long to grow it and its still short. It's super curly and a pain to brush as soon as she sees the detangler spray she runs and cries. I'm just going to let it grow and hopefully the length will weigh it down so she doesn't look like wild woman all the time. I knew she had no chance of having straight hair between me and dh our hair is super curly.

  • My daughter didn't get a hair cut until she was 3. I do prefer side bangs though, so I just always kept up on brushing, parting, and putting a clip in to keep it out of her eyes. Now her hair is down to her butt. She loves her princess hair.

Us too. But we save time on doing her hair and money on haircuts.

  • DD won't let me put anything in her hair and it's a complete mess in her eyes all the time.  It's also really fine and hard to really put in a hair band, even if she were to let me (barrettes are out of the question because they are pulled out too easily).  We've had it cut a couple of times, and I'm never that pleased with them, but we're going to try again tomorrow.
