I have a feeling this board will get a good response. A lot of the TTCAL women were nervous about being on PAL because it's hard to see threads with newborn babies. It's worked out fine so far but this board sounds good too. I can make an announcement during our check in tomorrow.

I feel like I could straddle the line- I have a Dx and would prob be doing IVF if we didn't have that whole ASD thing going on. But since we do, we're not pushing for treatment. Which means I guess I actually fit onto the 3T definition of IF (the one that doesn't belong on an actual IF board)? I have no idea. I'm going to go ahead and say I'm grandfathered in, dammit.

Yes! The board should be up in a few days, hopefully soon. Just ask if anyone would like to nominate themselves or another board member, then if there are more than 2 people, the boards will typically do a vote, to narrow it down to 2, then those names are passed on to Bump Jackie via PM https://forums.thebump.com/profile/BumpJackie

You know, I kind of technically would fit better over there since we aren't doing the more aggressive treatments either and I am in denial that we will need any. But, I was dx with IF before DS was born and am working with an RE to get a sib. And, more importantly, this has been my home for the last, what… 9 months or so. Gosh, that's long enough to have had a baby -__-

Any way, unless you guys kick me out, I'm not leaving. But I do think if it had existed when I started posting, it would have been where I went. So I'm really glad it's being created and I think it will help a lot of the current IF boards.

Can you give solid definitions for the difference between the boards?

We have a firm diagnosis but IUI is not an immediate consideration as RE wants to play around with meds and IVF is a never. So we're not going aggressive, and taking it slow but at the same time we have a diagnosis and I'm not interesting in fly by BFPs from those who just took a little longer. I feel like I'm not going to fit on either now!

@sailorgal and everyone else, I think that all of us here would fit there too. I think it will be nice that we can offer some support and guidance to other women who may be at the very beginning of their journey towards an IF diagnosis. If you asked me 2 years ago if I thought I would be moving to IVF in August I would have never believed you. The women of the 2IF board have been such a major support for me and I will continue to participate on this board because of the connection we all share. People who have never suffered from IF don't truly understand our journey, but that doesn't mean we can participate on another board and get some support from other women too.

I'm just thinking back to when @rmpar29 and I and a few others (some who have moved over to PgAL) started the rainbow siblings check-in on PAL because we felt that we couldn't openly discuss our children on TTCAL because it was so hurtful to the women who didn't have children. We often privately PM new women on TTCAL and tell them about the check in so we don't hurt others feelings. I'm going to page @BookishMomma who currently runs our rainbow sibling check-in.

I wanted to give you my thoughts on the first part of this question...

Clearly there are a lot of women throughout the bump with children who don't feel like they fit on some of the boards because they want to be able to have pictures of their children in their siggies. When we started the rainbow sibling check in it was place for us to talk about our living children and our losses in the same place. I would think the Trying For a Sibling board would be a place where we could have a "rainbow sibling" check in for women who have experienced losses, maybe an "IF check in", and the rest could be general topics like we have on the other boards. I think we all have a lot to offer one another, but I do think that 2IF is 100% needed for those of us who might find it painful to be part of a board where people join and then get their BFPs quickly.

That's the difference that I see, the 2IF would be reserved for those of us with IF diagnosis and the Trying for a Sibling would be more general.

Hi! I currently run the TTC a Rainbow Sibling check-in on PAL that @frenchteachermama mentioned. I'm a dirty lurker on 2IF but haven't intro-ed because I don't have an official IF diagnosis.

Anyway, the new board will be a good place for a lot of the ladies on our check-in (like @mara005-- hi, love!) I'd be open to moderating the new board, but I'd probably ask someone else to take over the check-in on PAL then.

The new board is going to be pretty much exactly like 3T except it will cater to ladies specifically having trouble conceiving siblings. That means that all stages of IF will be welcome, but specifically those ladies that have reached the 12m or ladies over 35 that have hit that 6m mark, beginning IF testing, focusing on TI, TI with meds, IUI, even IVF if you feel more comfortable posting there. This would also be a great outlet for ladies dealing with IF but wishing to take a more holistic approach; acupuncture/acupressure/herbal remedies/ etc.

The major difference is, this will be a board where ladies will also able to openly and freely discuss children, without worrying about putting warnings in their posts.

This board will remain the same, primarily focusing on ladies dealing with IVF and more advanced stages of IF.

Hope this answers some questions

No, it's a new board for everyone TTC a sibling that falls into the "gray area" which is why 3T was made in the first place, but this new board is going to be kid friendly so everyone can live in peace once again.

I let them know she's interested, it's looking like they might wait until the board is up and established to let the actual board members vote on a mod themselves. I hope they do that, the boards should get to pick their own mods
