Just wanted to post my story on here after months of reading advice & stories from the ladies which helped me so much. Knowing my 'silly questions' weren't silly & what I was going through was normal.
Here it goes...
I started having pains on Thursday night. I telephoned the midwife unit to make them aware my me. I said I was ok & they advised me to carry on at home & phone them if I needed anything. The pains got worse but suddenly stopped. This carried on until Saturday morning. By this point I was so exhausted as I couldn't lay down in bed. By Saturday evening the pains were quite severe so i made my way into hospital about 6pm. The midwife looked at me& kindly said i don't think your in labour as you don't seem in pain. I have a feeling you have a urine infection after collecting a sample.. She was right about the severe infection but i also believed something else was going on- she wanted to send us home but convinced her to examine me. To her suprise I was 6cm dilated. I got in the birthing pool & was handed some gas & air which was so much fun. I carried on until the early hours of the morning when she examined me again- as she did this my waters broke & I felt the baby's head drop & hit my pelvis. Oh the pain! There was lots of macoium & I was rushed round to the delivery suite to be monitored.. Her heart rate stablised & I carried on to 10cm & having pethodine which made my head spin & pushed for an hour with no luck. I remember having the most awful back pain- all I kept saying was I feel like she's stuck but no one would listen. With each contraction her heart rate kept dropping when a doc was called in to put an epidural in. As soon as this was in I was rushed to theatre as her heartrate was dropping & wasn't coming up- within minutes baby Evie was delivered via C-section very shocked & grey weighing 9lb11

at 15:49 Sunday afternoon. After a 5 day stay in hospital due to Evie being poorly we were discharged home where we have being enjoying every single tiring/ sleepless minute of our gorgeous girl.
