I know it may seem a little selfish, but I was wondering if it would be a possibility if my doctor would induce me at 38 weeks. This is my first child and my main problems are my knees ankles and hips popping out of socket and elevated blood pressure. Any advice would be appreciated. I go to the doctor next week and just wanted some kind of advice before I brought it up to him... Thanks all!

Maybe take your leave early if you can? My friend did that because at 38 weeks work got to be too much for her.
Like PP's suggested, can you start maternity leave early or get put on bed rest? It's much better for your LO for you to go into labor naturally when he/she is ready.
Your doctor knows your medical history and if he thinks you should induce to avoid complications I am sure he would bring it up. I wouldn't elect to induce without trying first to do other things to correct those problems.
