Last week in my Old White Wine thread, @Bookshelves gave me a lemon chicken recipe. On the same page was a link for Frozen Peanut Butter Bites. I just ate Ben & Jerry's pb cup ice cream! I need to order a cake for lo's baptism tomorrow, so I'm checking out bakery websites... dangerous.

@MissDemeanor‌, when's your birthday? Mine is in 2 weeks (7/31) and I'm debating what kinds of cake for that, as well. I'm turning 30, dammit, there will at least be yummy cake!

Also, very important topic worthy of debate: whipped cream or ice cream on pie? If whipped cream, actual whipped cream, redi whip or cool whip? Keep it civil. ;-)

@SuzyQq02 Mine is the 25th... I'll be 33. This is only depressing because for a while I thought I was 31, not 32. For my 30th birthday... NO ONE remembered. Yes, you read that correctly. I sat at home alone. Not even my parents phoned. And no, there wasn't a crazy surprise party sit com ending.

This year is going to be good. My boyfriend starts his parental leave that day, so we're going to spend my first birthday as a mommy all together, eating too much ice cream cake, and then going to a concert the next day.

I am too lazy to make my own desserts but will stop at my local bakery tomorrow thanks to this thread. I will also be overwhelmed with choices, delicious choices.

If the pie is warm I prefer vanilla ice cream. If it is a chilled pie I like real homemade whipped cream.

It totally depends on the pie, but I usually go with real whipped cream, but I'll settle for the stuff in the can because it's so much fun to spray. Cool whip does not go on pie.

I don't believe in topping pie either... I am a whipped cream on the side person, NEVER ice cream. I don't like mixing hot and cold desserts.

Oh gosh - so much. We have LO's baptism Sunday so my dad, who is a huge sweets fan, is in town and we hit up the best bakery daily. Yesterday I had a fresh fruit tart, today I had (this is so embarrassing) an orange roll, a pineapple hand pie, and a small slice of raspberry cream pie. I have a loaf of cinnamon burst bread for breakfast tomorrow. We also have two cakes on Sunday (one at church, one at her repetition). And I know we will hit up the amazing ice cream parlor at some point. And probably the bakery one more time - for a chocolate croissant
