Potty training resource recommendations

Yes I know it's early and that many of you don't want to touch this with a 10 foot pole yet.

But

DD has thrown epic fits every time her diaper gets wet and has been taking them off thru zip-up pj's and onesies, so it's time for us to put in some effort to get this done. She has been sitting on the potty for months, but will only go for me and only occasionally.

I trained DD 4th of July weekend and had a lot of success. DD was doing what you described..taking her diapers off. We had to put them on backwards and then duct tape them and sometimes she still got them off at nap time. I used the three day potty training guide and have it on ebook so if you're interested, I can e-mail it to you. Let me know!

I read a lot of blog posts and identified with this one, but tweaked it to work for us.

I had James potty train a doll the weekend before (because I work) and bought a bunch of potty books. We read the books throughout the week and did a little count down to wearing underwear as well as talking about all the people we know that wear underwear. I made a storyboard to keep in the bathroom with pictures of all the steps to go to the bathroom. I also made a little 4x6 sticker reward chart so I could easily take it with me in my purse. If you feel like scrolling way way back on my IG, I'm pretty sure I posted a picture of that.

On Saturday morning, he woke up and put on underwear! I did buy training underwear instead of just regular underwear so it would help catch an accident. I have never cleaned up pee or poop from the floor in my house. My favorite trainers were Blueberry and Bummis. Hannah Andersson was my favorite for stepping up to a thinner underwear but still offered a little protection from dribble.

I didn't make a big deal about tossing out the pull-ups in the house because he still wore them at night. He actually just stopped wearing them at night a couple months ago.

We have a bunch of the Blueberry brand trainers, so I'm glad you liked them! I don't know if she will 'get' the training of a doll or the reward chart, but I will take a look at the blog!

@hmp1 Where's the best online site to buy bummis and blueberry trainers? Amazon has a pretty limited supply.

Also, I'm glad you answered, because I had been meaning to ask you which trainers you used since I remembered you saying they worked well for you in the past!

I ordered from a couple different places. The Bummis I got on Amazon and just ordered two of the dots and 2 of the plain white, but the Blueberry I got mostly at a cloth diaper store sale, a couple from Amazon because I wanted a variety of the prints. I started putting him back in the trainers when we stopped pull ups at night, just in case. So they are back in rotation now for night sleeping even though he hasn't had a single accident since switching at night. Still makes me feel a little more protected. He has been able to wear them for over a year and are in perfect condition so Leo will be using them when the time comes. It was a big investment up front but they have been serving us well.

@watercolor5‌ nickisdiapers.com has had some sales on the blueberry ones and amazon occasionally as well.
