Trouble TTC

Appointment Update! Stim tonight

Hi ladies!

Today, I had my next appointment with our RE and heard good news (YAY). My u/s showed that I had 1 follicle on the left side at 11 mm, and a few small (5-6 mm) on the right. My lining also looked significantly better than last Friday when it was at 4.5. We left this morning waiting for our BW results to tell if I was going to go on Estrogen patches until next Wednesday, or begin to stim with Gonal-F (150 IU) tonight.

Well, awesome news, I start to stim tonight with Gonal-F and go back for a repeat US on Friday AM. My RE does not want to lose this follicle like the last time when it just disappeared. Then we will trigger with Ovidrel and go for our IUI. My Estrogen went from 29 to 59.5, and my FSH finally dropped from 19 to 7.7!

Any tips on injecting? My DH will be doing it tonight, and I am starting to get nervous, even though I have been stuck a million times through chemo. Thanks for all of your best wishes.

  • The Gonal pens are so sharp you hardly even feel it going in. Just make sure the alcohol dries first on the skin. Good luck!

  • Injects weren't bad at all. I barely felt it. When I had to do them on my own, I did them in the bathroom in front of the mirror and that was helpful. The place I ordered my meds from has some great, very detailed how-to videos on their site. They're a little mind numbing to watch because they're almost too detailed, but I definitely felt comfortable doing the injects after watching them. https://www.villagefertilitypharmacy.com/medications-and-video-injection-lessons

  • That's great news!  As others have said, the Gonal-F needles are plenty sharp enough.  They go right in, no biggie.  Good luck!
