I have two issues these days, one of course more serious than the other and hoping to get some opinions and some reassurance here...
1. cervix funneling
So my doctor saw something in the vaginal ultrasound. it's not the common U or Y shaped funneling as my cervix at either ends are tightly closed and fine. Babies are not moving down that usually cases the U shape. Mine is slightly open (in a long thin line) in the middle of the cervix. Has anyone else been diagnosed with this? How did it go? I'm worried it'll open up more and eventually start labor.. I'm only 24 weeks. OB says cerclage is not an option as I'm too far along.
2. Stomach tightening
I described it to my OB who says it's fine but I'm still worried. What I heard of Braxton Hicks is different from what I experience. My stomach is tight -- most of the time. Not like contractions (BH or real) where it should be coming and going. I feel like my stomach's rock hard (with a little room to give if I poke it) most of the day and gets more tighter and uncomfortable if I walk around.
OB says to call him if I feel tightening more than 5 times in an hour but... if it's just tight all day??? He says duration is not his concern just the interval. Anyone else have the same issue?
I was feeling so great up until last week, working out twice a week, very high energy and now I feel like I can't do anything else but just sit around all day... OB will put me on bed rest if my cervix gets any worse. It hasn't since 10 days ago which is a good sign but it does scare me...

Re: Complications - Very tight, hard stomach & cervix funneling
My stomach is tight most of the time as well, but I have found that it is harder at some times for than others. If I just sit down in my recliner it does relax. I know that is not the same, but all I have to offer at this time.
I hope it all works out!

As for the tightness, I have the same thing, but I've noticed that if I take a gas-x, and drink a lot of water, it gets better. So I'm thinking it is just gas/bloating/skin stretching. My OB and MFM said only to worry if the tightness was in intervals, if it is consistent, as in my belly was just tight for hours on end, it is probably just bloating/gas. Gotta love pregnancy.
