Cigna Insurance and P17/Progesterone Shots

Hi ladies, I had my son at 31w5days, I am 9 weeks now and haven't yet been to my 1st high risk doctor's appointment.

Any other moms out there have any recent experience with Cigna insurance and the P17/progesterone shots, what was your cost etc?

It likely depends on your plan.  I'd just give them a call to find out.

They can't/won't say anything without codes and doc tax ID. Crazy.

Your doctor should be able to give you that information.

I'm asking now because I'm 9 weeks I don't go to my high risk doctor until 12, and won't get my first shot until 16. And from my experience, the Dr.'s offices know little about billing, so I'm reaching out to mommas with experience.

I don't have Cigna, I have Health Net and before they price it out your insurance has to give the approval to receive it in the first place. Out of pocket the shots are $1,800 each. My deductible is $54 per vial, which is 4-5 shots. So about $10 a shot. Its not something i go to the pharmacy to get, it gets sent to the doctors and i pick it up from there. To ease the cost as well, my husband went with me to my 16 week appointment and they showed him how to give me the shot, this saves us on nurse copays.
