Bug Stings

I've only been stung twice in my life, so I don't really remember the last reaction, but...

I was at the park on Monday and something stung me on my upper arm. It's painful, warm to the touch, and most of my upper arm is red and swollen. I've tried icing it and using Benadryl gel...no change.

At what point would you have a doctor look at it...?

Re: Bug Stings

  • Now would be good with what you have described.

  • Is the swelling and redness getting worse or spreading? If so, I would go in.

It seems redder, but the swelling is the same and it's not spreading (anymore...it was spreading on Monday when the sting happened).

Maybe I'll give it another day and see. :/

Is it possible that the stinger is still in you? Pretty hard to tell if it's swollen. I use baking soda on my stings. Maybe some ice to take down the swelling.
