Sooo... thought I would share my story. I am sure this has happened to others before?
My sister-in-law the other day gave me some pee sticks the other day and said "you can have my left over pregnancy tests." (she had a baby a few months ago..) I was like oh thanks and put them in my purse. 

I decided to test today because... why not? My chart is insane so it's always an up in the air question.
I pee on the stick and... TWO LINES!!!!!!!!
I am freaking out. SHAKING. I am also pretty confused... is this for real?!

I text my husband. He's in class but I am so persistent with him that he leaves class to call me. He was actually pretty worried. I send him the pic of the test and he's pretty freaking happy. We are excited and yadda yadda... I mean looking back on this I feel like a complete idiot. 
Then I just decide to check the wrapper just in case. 

IT'S A FREAKING OVULATION TEST.

It was the worse type of mind trick I could possibly play on myself. 


There you go. (sigh)

    That would of have been the worst! Sorry that happened, but I have also heard you can get two lines on a ovulation test if you are pregnant sometimes and I'm assuming you already O'd since you tried to use one right?

    I mean when someone tells you they are giving you pregnancy tests.... you just assume they are. 

    Also... it was heart breaking to call my husband back later. :(

    That sucks.
    Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.

    Oh honey I'm so sorry.
    I agree, you will look back on this and laugh.

    When my husband and i thought i pregnant when we weren't trying. To our surprise i wasnt but the positive that came from it was that it confirmed that we were ready to start trying! It brought us together!

    yeah it was complete shit. It's amazing how quickly your mind turns over into "im having a baby" mode.

    Ohh no. I'm sorry. Be easy on yourself. You were told pregnancy tests so I agree, naturally you wouldn't look at the label. I can't imagine the instant heartache. (Hugs)

    Oh gosh. I am so sorry. I am in the light a bitch up category too. I mean, yeah, if someone says "here, have my pregnancy tests", they better effing be giving you pregnancy tests. So sorry to you and your husband.

    BFP 12/14/14!!! Beta #1, 12/16: 990 Beta #2, 12/18: Over 2000! Beta #3, 12/22: over 8000!
     U/S #1, 12/23: gestational sac, possible heartbeat
    U/S #2, 12/30: HEARTBEAT! 128bpm, measuring right on at 7w EDD: 8/19/2015
    U/S #3, 1/9: BPM in the 180s, IT'S HAPPENING!!!

    Wow that sucks, I'm so sorry that happened to you!

    A friend who is KU just gave me some of her unused tests yesterday, I will for sure double check to make sure what kind of test they are now!!

    Ok. there you go. I am not alone. I called my good friend who has PCOS too and actually showed her the test and she told me to double check just in case.... that's how I eventually figured it out. It was depleting.
