Oatmeal vs. Granola

I think we have all heard how oatmeal can increase your breast milk supply.  Well, I don't like oatmeal.  I like granola though and see that the first ingredient is whole grain rolled oats.  Is granola just as good as oatmeal to increase breast milk supply?  If so, how much should I eat?  Thanks!

Re: Oatmeal vs. Granola

  • That sounds good! How often do you eat this mixture? Do you use dried cranberries? So just mix everything all up together? Sorry so many questions. I'm clueless as this is the first baby I have breastfed and supply has dropped with return to work. I am looking for all natural ways to increase it.

I've also heard that almonds help to up your supply. Sounds crazy, but I've noticed an increase in my pumping output when I snack on them and am also diligent about my water intake. Might be a coincidence but worth a try!

And re: water, I drink a stupid amount and it helps so much. I keep a 22 oz bottle with me at work (Lifefactory glass bottle with the rubber sleeve thing -- fun to drink out of so it keeps me going, haha) and I refill it 4-5x a day. Makes all the difference for me.
