  • its OK... I do have severe anxiety. but there were also three attempted child abductions within two blocks of my house within a week. due to this I'm always on alert. maybe I should talk to my dr

  • 2under2here! I felt the same way! Very anxious. I had dd in April. We kept ds in daycare for awhile while I was on maternity leave. It helped me a lot during recovery (c-sec)But now they are both with me during the day and it really is the best. We have a schedule and most days go quite smoothly. Dd is still at the stage where I can put her in her swing and she's content while I feed ds. And while ds naps I get baby snuggle time. Are there times when they both demand something at the same time? Yes, but I just address the one that seems the neediest or easiest to soothe at the moment before moving to the next. As for the store---I don't venture out with both of them on my own. At this stage I think it would be too much. We do the park or something like that. But to go through everything to cart them into a store on my own....no thanks. We do grocery shopping as a family or just one of us stops by the store (or if we are lucky we get a sitter and make a date out of it....I know how romantic). I had tons of anxiety too (and I do worry about someone stealing my babies! They're so cute!) but it has worked out so far. And some days it really goes so smoothly I just can't believe it. Other days make up for it :)

  • I am a little more than a month away from having LO2 (my two girls will be 20 months apart). I think it is going to be a stressful time but I'm brainstorming ways to make things a bit easier. I'm testing out Peapod grocery delivery this week which only costs $5 extra. The thought of bringing two babies to the market does not sound fun. Even one can be a challenge. I also get diapers delivered through Amazon, etc... Maybe you would be comforted by some concrete plans to ease the transition from 1 to 2. I know planning helps me reduce my anxiety. Good luck :)

I'm in the same boat here. DD is due in 7.5 weeks.

Remembering your older one will be older when your new one arrives is really key. DS has made fantastic leaps in just this last month that have calmed me down about having 2u2. I also second coming up with a plan to ease your mind.
