Hand foot and mouth disease

My little guy has got a horrible case of hand foot and mouth. We are alternating Tylenol and Motrin and trying to keep him hydrated since his fever won't seem to go down much, my question is , any tips on helping him be comfortable? He for sure feels awful and just wants to cuddle with me which I don't mind at all, but would like to help him feel better too!

Unfortunately there is not a lot you can do other then what you are doing. The worst of it will last about a week, in my experience. You can try to put aquaphor on any cracking skin and that should help keep the skin hydrated and less likely to crack and bleed but other then that all you can do is wait it out. It sucks! GL!

It gets better after the fever breaks. My LO did not want much milk at each sitting but I offered very frequently and he would take an ounce or two every 20 minutes.
Their throat can get very sore. My pedi ordered us a prescription of Nystatin and equal parts Benadryl to coat his throat. She said to offer it before a feeding to encourage him to drink and stay hydrated. It did seem to help him sleep a little better because his throat wasn't bothering him as much.
