OT potty seats

The toilet seats in our apartment are cheap ones. I have to retighten the screws like every other day (cheap plastic). Will a potty seat that just lays over top be usable? or should we buy a new toilet seat that have both the adult and child seat in it?

  • If you are having problems with the one the you have, is better to buy the one the you just mention, than do the screws all the time.

  • Have you tried replacing the screws first?

  • I think I would still go with the toilet seat that sits on top.  I got the Prince Lionheart one because of the bigger splash guard.

That and it's contoured a lot more than the one you linked.  My daughter likes to lean back and fourth on the potty.  And she spends a good 10-15 minutes on it "trying" sometimes.  I'd be worried about her taking a dive off the one you linked.

  • I'm side tracking this thread, does anyone have a step stool for their kids to get on the toilet?

I have a small potty chair that she can get on herself, but what about the full sized toilet?

  • @mandmeesh - Yeah, the drawbacks to the seat you linked are that is doesn't have a pee guard in the front (since you have a boy) and handles. If your toilets are pretty close to the walls and a vanity, he might not need handles, but sometimes it is nice to have them so they feel more stable.

@sarenu1 - I bought two cheap Graco step stools (one for upstairs and one for down) that DS can use to access the toilet or sink. So far his legs are still too short for him to be able to sit flat-footed on the big toilet, so we use the floor potty more. I kind of wish I had bought a taller stool and forgone the floor potties, but it is too late now. (Target has some cute ones, though.)
