My husband feels overwhelmed bc he feels that I talk and see her too much. Just want to know how often others talk/ see mothers. I see her maybe once or twice a week for an hr or 2 at a time. She lives super close to is and I'm pretty close with her but I think my husband feels threatened by it at times and is almost controlling about how much I talk to her I think. Or maybe I'm just being childish I don't know just curious what others think. Thank you ))
If my mom lived nearby I'm sure I (or all of us as a family) would see her once a week or so. I talk to her about that often on the phone for 30-45 minutes.
Pre-baby I talked to my mom a few times a week. But now I talk to her almost every day if not every day. We do talk over text though a lot so sometimes it's not always a phone conversation.
I also talk to DH's family almost every day because I send pics of LO.
Edit- I usually see her at least once a week. She will stop by on her way home from work to see LO. But she doesn't typically stay long unless she is there to help with LO.
When my mom worked basically the same hours as me, I used to call her every day on my way home from work. But now that she is often working when I am not, I talk to her less often over the phone and more through texts a few times a week.
In terms of visiting, we take LO to see her every other week or so. If we don't have a visit planned, she starts texting me to ask when she gets to see LO. Before we had LO, we didn't always visit quite as regularly.
She lives about 45-60 minutes from us depending on traffic. If she lived nearby, I would probably be over there a lot more often.

My mom lives 6 hours away. I usually only talk to her once or twice a week and each time is for less than 20 minutes. We have a good relationship, we are both just really busy and not big on talking on the phone.

thats nothing in our household. We live on the same street as my mom and she regularly stops by every other day to spend an hour or two with DD. And we usually have dinner with my parents on Sat or Sun. So its 3-4 times a week , 1-2 hours each time + weekend time
I think your husband is beign childish. How is you talking with your MOTHER hurting him. I would ask him why he doesnt want to speak to his own mother more. I talk to my mother every day, sometimes more than once, and see her at least once a week

I agree. He is being childish.
My mom lives close by, so I talk to her no less than every other day and see her at least 2-3 times a week.
I have three kids and she and my dad love them and want to be a part of their lives. I appreciate that.
