Bottle Brand Preference?

Hi ladies,
Mobile bumping, so apologies if this has been mentioned before...
DS is EBF and to get him ready for DC, we have been practicing some bottle feeding. The slow flow Medela nipples we have are OK with paced feedings, but I am looking for an even slower-flowing bottle so that DS doesn't get frustrated. Anyone have experience with Tommee Tippee and/or Comotomo bottles for a 6-12 week old? I've read that they are great for BF babies. Any other brand preferences you can recommend? I have an Avent bottle to try tomorrow.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Bottle Brand Preference?

  • MAM level 0 nipples are the slowest I've found. The avent slow flow were like a fire hose as was Lansinoh momma level 0/slow flow ones. I've heard good things about tommee tippee slow flow also though.

But Lansinoh Momma is not on there and a lot of BF moms like that one. I felt like the nipples were too fast for my guy when he was tiny but then he was born preemie and less than 5 pounds so we had some extra feeding challenges.

  • we used and liked tommee tippee. we used the TT bottles with newborn flow nipples the entire time DS was drinking out of bottles. (they also make an plastic adapter for breast pumps that use standard-width bottles so you can pump directly into the TT bottles.)

if you have a tj maxx or marshall's near you, they often have really great deals on them. (don't buy them on amazon, their prices are inflated.)
  • Shopping at TJs and Marshall's never occurred to me. Thanks for the tip! Part of the reason I asked the Q in the first place is because I'm a cheapo and don't want to buy a ton of different brands.

Our LO is a bit older, 4 months, and she will only take the Lansinoh momma bottles. When She was younger she took the gerber first essentials slow flow and they were perfect (and cheap :) )

  • We thought medela slow flow was too fast also... Switched to playtex ventaire wide and never had another problem (and used slow flow until the bottles were gone at 11.5 months).
  • I love love love the Lansinoh Momma bottles. Still using them at 7.5 months!

  • Lansinoh Momma.... LO has tried born free and tommee tippee both of which were too fast for her. She loves the Lansinoh though!
  • Tommee Tippee bottles works for my baby. No nipple confusion when I breastfeed too. Slow flow nipple. For newborn are great.
  • Thanks for all the recs- to BRU I go!
