Solid food and daycare

Oh hai. Apparently today is my day to blow up the board with questions! ;-)

LO is with my mom 3 days a week and DC 2 days a week. We started doing "lunch" of veggies over the weekend, and my mom has continued. Tomorrow would be the first day at DC since we've started. Do I just show up with the food and say "here, give her this!" or should I have a convo with the teacher tomorrow and see what they say?

I know this is a totally stupid question and I should just call the daycare, but I don't want to sound like an idiot to them... so I'll sound like an idiot to you guys! ;-)

Show up with the food and tell them how you do it at home and ask that they give it a try.*

*does not have kid in daycare but just returned from a daycare tour where I asked all the questions

Oh hai! I'm stalking your threads.

Our daycare provides solids, woot woot. We waited until W was actually ingesting some of it (like, into her belly and NOT 100% on her face/clothes/hair/highchair/my face) before we asked DC to start.

I basically left it in their hands - let them know what foods we had done and asked that they stick with those.

I also brought about 3 extra outfits to keep there, because W + solids = disaster. Somehow, W has managed to come home in the same outfit she arrived in...I have no idea how DC is keeping her clean, but it's pretty amazing.

This was a clean day for us!!

stalking this thread bc LO hasn't started either DC or solids yet, but I figured it would be good to have this info ahead of time (t-4/5 weeks until DC)!
