yahoo groups

I've been reading back in posts on this board (waaaay back), and there are several references to yahoo groups for foster care and adoption. Well I took a look today and joined a few... and they all ended up either being spam or were never actually active to begin with. Disappointed. Does anyone have luck with yahoo groups or any other 'community' (other than here, of course) that they can point me in the direction of? I was initially looking for a new jersey-specific group, but was also open to any group for foster to adopt, or adopting from foster care.
