Bruising after U/S

I'm 27w3d with twins, and due to a number of factors, I have an ultrasound every week (I alternate between my OB and MFM). Today my ob's normal u/s tech was out, and the "sub" was so rough! Now the area around my bellybutton is almost green- like a bruise. I didn't even notice it, since I can't exactly see that part of my stomach, but DH noticed it and mentioned that my belly looks bruised. Anyone else ever had this happen? It definitely hurt during the u/s, but I am shocked that there's an actual bruise! I'm on aspirin and lovenox to prevent blood clots, so I wonder if that also makes me more susceptible to bruises? Can anyone commiserate on rough u/s's or bruising??

I've never had a rough u/s but aspirin always make me bruise really easily. Hopefully your regular tech will be back next time.

That said, pretty sure an ultrasound shouldn't hurt. I would bring it to my doctor's attention at your next apt at least. Not that I imagine any danger, just not how patients should feel!

I bet you're right then about the aspirin. I've had uncomfortable abdominal ultrasounds before- both babies have their heads way down low, and it can be rough as they try to scan really low. I dont know.. I always feel kind of beat up after ultrasounds! Love seeing the babies though, of course!

Me too!!!! Her daughter had a baby, so she's out for a little bit.
