Feeling down, pity party of 1

Hey ladies,
I'm just feeling super down and have always struggled with my weight. I'm 5'3 and 165lbs. Most of my extra weight seems to be around the middle and mostly in the front. I know my belly is getting bigger but I look like I'm 30weeks pregnant at 12weeks and I just feel horrible about it.

Anyone else feeling down?

  • I'm sorry you are feeling this way. Remember the most important thing is to be happy and healthy for u and baby. As easy as it is to say ur weight doesn't matter I understand exactly what you are saying. Try and focus on positives coming your way and all the future has in store for your family. Also maybe start planning now your exercise with baby and how u can be healthier or more active now while pregnant. Also second trimester u usually have more energy which may help.

  • I'm starting this pregnancy 5 pounds heavier than I was at 9 months pregnant the last time. I'm wondering how I can have a baby without gaining any weight! (Kidding of course). It will be worth it once you have the baby. A lot right now is probably bloating. If you can try not to gain too much in the first 20 weeks you should be ok! My doctor recommended 5-10 in the first 20 weeks then a pound a week for the last 20.
  • I'm sorry you're feeling down, that's a bummer!  I hope things look up for you.

I'm feeling a little low about my weight too, I'm only 11 weeks 3 days and I'm already shopping for maternity clothes.  It's especially bad with the nausea, typically I can only choke down bland carbs when I start to feel nauseous.  I already look and feel very pregnant too!

I'm just hoping that as the nausea fades I can go back to some of my better eating habits.  I'd like to ditch the ginger ale, saltines, and bland foods as soon as possible!

I also walk about 3 miles every morning with a girlfriend and that helps so much!  It doesn't seem like much but it helps keep my muscles stretched and wakes me up in the mornings.

    Feel better soon!
