Re: Pressure/discomfort

  • You can mention it to your doctor at your next appointment just to be safe, but it could be varicose veins in your vulva.  I had some last time and have them again, and sometimes it just feels like a bunch of uncomfortable pressure down there.  It's felt more in the outer areas, though, and isn't really inner vaginal pressure.

  • @biokitty42‌ it feels both inner and outer. I have appt wed so I will mention it..
  • I have felt this most of my pregnancy, my doctor said it was normal even though I never felt it with my first. She also checked my cervix during my last ultrasound to make sure everything was ok.
  • I've been feeling a lot more with this pregnancy, and my midwife said it was normal.  One of the joys of your body having been there, done that before.  I think it has to do with weakened or stretched out muscles from baby #1.

  • When I saw my doctor at 27 weeks, he told me to start expecting lots of pressure. Sounds normal to me. I'm on baby 2 and at sometimes during the day, I have so much pain and pressure down there that I feel like baby is coming out.
  • I usually get this after sex and I'm pretty sure it's just increased blood flow to the area. But, def check with your doc if you're concerned

  • I'm 31 weeks and have been having lots of pressure the past few weeks or so. I think baby boy is down low and his head is pushing a lot!!! Sometimes it feels like he is about to come right out! MD said it was normal and I've found that by wearing a belly band it helps to take some of the pressure off.
  • I was having odd pressure/pain and it turns out I had a UTI. Might be worth checking out.

  • I have been having TONS of pressure. My Dr said with baby 2 and more you'll stand for 10 mins and it'll feel like baby is about to fall our at your knees, and that this feeling is completely normal.

    Normal or not it sucks!

  • Yes it does suck!
  • I've been feeling the same way and thinking it was too early to be this uncomfortable. OB said with subsequent pregnancies, the ligaments amd muscles just don't do their job as well as they have in the past, due to being stretched and strained from the first pregnancy. He said it's totally normal to have discomfort earlier on(and yes it def does suck!), and that the weapons of defense are to stay extremely hydrated, take it easier than normal, and to report any out of ordinary symptoms as bladder infections and UTI's can show up at this time. Basically listen to your body and drink ALL the water, but that it's the end and the discomfort is part of it. Not what you want to hear, I know lol!
