Iphone 5c..dreaming

I am dreaming about getting an iPhone.  Currently we have old flip phones and would really like to upgrade. What cases do you recommend?  Can you get any cute cases that protect?  I would love to get a pink chevron case but it seems like the best are Life proof and otter box and I haven't seen any cute ones for these brands.  Thank you to whoever posted about the cartwheel because hopefully we'll be able to use it to get a smartphone!

    For the 5c, if you go to Otterboxes website, the commuter case (and maybe some others) have a build your case. I have mine with pink and aqua blue. It looks cute, yet I know that it will hold up against a) me dropping it or b) my child throwing it like a hooligan. Lifeproof is overkill (IMO) since it's about $70 or 80 for a case that is similar to the Otterbox. The only real difference to my knowledge is the colors and the fact that lifeproof is waterproof.

    I have a $5 case from Walmart, and so far it's protected mine just fine. DS and I both drop it all the time. Don't get the cheap plastic ones from there though. My last phone had one of those on it, and it shattered when it fell. Let me find the link of the one I have...

    Okay, can't find it. But it was in a big bin in the middle aisle at the store.

    I have a speck brand case on mine. Dd is a toddler, so it's not in her mouth or anything but it has been dropped. It's green with blue accents. It's cute enough without being obnoxious. It's also got rubber around the front that sticks out a little but further than the phone. I think that is what keeps it from getting broken. There are definitely cuter cases but I feel like it needs to have the rubber around the front.

    I have a 5s and love the Lifeproof case. I got away with cheap cases for my 4s, until DD stepped on my purse at the gym, unlocking the hinge on my water bottle - flooding my purse and killing my phone

    I just got mine a couple months ago but I love the life proof case. Seriously, if you break your phone pre-upgrade you're looking at like 500 to replace it. I would rather buy the $80 case than pay insurance every month plus a deductible if my phone breaks

    I bought Apple Care for $100. It lasts for two years (there is a deductible). Insurance was $10 a month so it was cheaper over time to buy the Apple Care and when it expires my contract is up and I'm eligible for an upgrade!

    Ugh, I am sorry. I have been there and it sucks! Luckily I was up for renewal soon and eligible for an upgrade. But knowing it happened made the $80 Lifeproof pill easier to swallow

    @sometimesalwayschaotic & @eaglesfan700 I don't think that my phone got that wet actually? There was about an inch or two of water sitting in the bottom (FML), but I've been checking it periodically. The outside and case had some water that I wiped off, but so far people can hear me when I call them, I can hear them, the screen works, and music/other sounds still play out loud. I dodged a bullet there! I need to get that lifeproof case. Apparently I cannot be trusted with my phone lol #-o
