I'm curious...we talk about bed sharing and in the US the practice is frowned upon but I have heard that in other countries babies sleep with their mommies/parents and this is a normal practice.
Is anyone outside of the US talking about this study?

Re: SIDS and bed sharing...not in US
Our doctor explained that bed-sharing is frowned upon, but as long as the parents are not obese or intoxicated, and take precautions to keep pillows and blankets away from the baby, there are no increased risks. She specifically said that SIDS is not at higher risk with bed-sharing, but failure to keep the bed safe can lead to suffocation. My DH and I have a king sized bed and our LO gets half of it to himself, while I sleep in the middle and DH clings to the opposite edge. Our doctor is confident that our LO is safe sleeping in our bed with us. We are trying to transition him to sleep in his pack n' play next to the bed, but it's a really tough change for him.
