Running/Walking/Exercise Check In

This check in is to discuss how your workout regime is going and to ask questions about exercising during pregnancy.

How were your runs/walks/exercise this past week? If you are still running, how is that going?

Any exciting news? Raves/rants?

GTKY: What has surprised you most about this pregnancy so far?

Re: Running/Walking/Exercise Check In

  • How were your runs/walks/exercise this past week? If you are still running, how is that going? Still running although pretty slowly. I also take walking breaks every few minutes. I was able to run twice last week, do weight training twice, and do one crossfit session. Today I did a 4 mile run/walk and felt pretty good.

Any exciting news? Raves/rants?  Got our car seat this past weekend. Now I just need to install it and we're good to go! Also, along the lines of exercise, I think my SPD is under control for now, which makes me feel so much better to run and do other exercise.

GTKY: What has surprised you most about this pregnancy so far? Two things - how much faster some of the aches/pains showed up. I feel like I should be 8 months pregnant now, not 6! The other surprise is how quite/calm this baby is compared to DS. He would move SO much and doesn't nearly as much, even though I started feeling her almost 4 weeks sooner this time around.

  • How were your runs/walks/exercise this past week? If you are still running, how is that going?  I had taken 4 weeks off from running and have been walking instead. Today I went up to the gym and just felt like running so I went for it and got through my 3 miles without much difficulty! I am so proud of myself. I think I am going to shoot for running 3 miles 2-3 times a week until my doctor tells me to stop. I think I have been scared to keep running and lazy but now that I know I can do it I am excited to try and keep going!

Any exciting news? Raves/rants? Feeling lots of kicks and looking forward to my next appointment.

GTKY: What has surprised you most about this pregnancy so far? How uneventful it has been. After experiencing the first half of a high risk pregnancy I didn't know how simple things can be.

My exercise has kind of suffered over the past few weeks due to health and insomnia reasons. But I've been able to keep up regular walks with my dog and yoga.

I have no exciting news this week. I'm just excited about getting into the third trimester and hopefully having the pace pick up with all the appointments and nesting.

I guess I didn't expect this pregnancy to be so easy, aside from all the complications from my pre-existing health problems. If it weren't for my diabetes and stomach condition, this probably would be a relatively enjoyable experience.
